OT: God Dammit! RIP Jimmy Buffett
Added 2023-09-02 12:19:39 +0000 UTCJust found out he died at 76 years old.
He's another one that was such a huge part of my adult life, and I was always intending to see him in concert one more time, but I guess I waited too long.
For the longest time A Pirate Looks at 40 was one of my favorite songs, and if there was a kareoke machine in the area, you can bet your ass I was up there singing (badly!) that one, or Come Monday
Anyway, that's all I wanted to say
Trying to decide what to work on next. It's going to be one of my Buffy stories, because I'm trying to alternate between Buffy and Harry Potter
See you later

I only saw him once, the last show of the "One Particular Harbor" tour. under the stars at Ceasar's Palace in Las Vegas, when I was stationed out there in the Air Force. Great show, no rain though. The only time I can remember getting rained on was at JFK Stadium in Philadelphia in 1981, was there for a thing called "The Round Up" was in order, 38 Special, Molly Hatchet, The Outlaws, The Allman Brothers, and Marshall Tucker. Long as day! As I've said before, about the only good thing about being so old is getting to see all the cool bands! I saw Black Sabbath on my 18th Birthday, and a few months later had floor seats for Blue Oyster Cult, the Grateful Dead (with Jerry Garcia) about a dozen times. Heart, Aerosmith, Pink Floyd, Bruce Springsteen, Yes twice You get the idea *GRIN*
