Suna would be an interesting choice for the Chunin Exams. Matsu would have useful advice for his students on how to operate in a desert. It would also allow possible issues caused by his cheeky behavior towards Chiyo to come up. Plus, I could see them wanting a PR win after what happened with Sakumo.

Wait isn't the rasengan incomplete, it is still missing adding wind to make the rashuriken like naruto, What is Matsu's elemental nature? Will matsu add his elemental nature into it? Is that his ace in the hole?

Wasn't the geisha using it for light healing or something? I have no problem with him sharing it, but sharing it with so many people increases the chance it'll get co-opted by the elites of the village.

Most of the time I just give my proofreaders access to the chapter's gdoc where they make suggestions that I can approve or reject depending on what they're suggesting. I usually give the chapter a read voer myself before handing it off to them to do another review. - if they can't get to it in time I usually just go ahead with posting a chapter and change things up later. - for more proofreading and content suggesitons I otherwise suggest chatting over discord or again posting thoughts as comments on Gdocs.

This is a fantastic choice imo. I honestly think Gengetsu is the second most interesting character in the story. The man is a complete mystery. So any interactions with him in them should be great.

Yo Viva. I'm curious about your expectations for a proofreader. I'm not a true native English speaker, but I've lived in the States for a couple of years and have a C2 Proficiency Diploma. I could spare some time ironing out obvious flaws, though I'd want to hear how you propose to organize the process before I commit to anything.

Thanks for the extra chapter. Glad to see them being promoted to genin. I do find it strange that Matsu gave out the Rasengan since its an A-Rank jutsu and even though I am sure none of the kids will learn it seems strange to give it to the group especially since Matsu has constantly been the group source of either jutsu, chakra control, etc. Like I could see one of the civilian keeps betraying the group one way or another. Though I am thrilled Matsu came out and stated whats his goal is out loud being Mizukage and I look foward to the fallout from this. I would enjoy if you explore the more politic side maybe even once Matsu becomes a jonin the interaction of ninjas and the Daiymo of Water country or more comptent nobles/samurais. I do hope we have more chapters of Matsu growth and there is not a sudden jump for him to become S-Rank or Kage level. I also hope you explore his techniques more than just him learning more jutsu or different elements. Early chapters his chakra strings would be molded with element chakra to attack but now just seems like he uses its for armor and thats it. Would be cool if instead of just armor would get him to take inspiration from like Doflamingo fighting stlye from one piece. Like creating a string from ankle to calf that uses to cut people. Its got to be Konoha only makes sense but I can see you having the Iwa Jonin showing up as a teacher. Plus I would like to see Sakumo interaction. Keep up the great work and look forward to the next one.

For subsequent chapters, I'm really looking forward to seeing known canon characters and getting their reactions to Matsu and what he does. It would be cool to see what they think of him or if he's featured in any other village's bingo book (I imagine he would be in Konoha's if any Leaf ninjas got away during the that Hyuga abduction incident and realized how many of their comrades he killed, but he might've not been too noticeable back during that particular event or generally throughout his tour of duty in the Land of Wind; for that matter, Suna might have taken note of him during/after their meeting with the Kazekage, so it might be interesting to see their reactions to him during the Chunin exams).

I think it's gonna be Konoha. It would fit Gengetsu's humor. Sending a Uzumaki to the village they used to be allied with. The reaction of the Hyuga will be interesting. They know he was part of the group that captured the Main Line Hyuga. Also Monkey Face ANBU will be there. He can gain many Jutsus while he is there. 'The Eye of Kaguya' is a Kin Kutsu and the only Uzumaki left are a sickly Mito and Kushina. So the Uchiha will not recognize it. Those famous jutsu thiefs always train their butt off. Everyone will show the most powerful and flashiest jutsu possible to impress clients. Perfect hunting ground for jutsu hunting. He was able to detect ANBU before he had 'The Eye of Kaguya'. He might even get some Bukijutsu techniques from Sakumo. Not that he wil know about it.

I would wager very heavily in his favor. He's way more powerful than in canon at this point. First of all his new genjutsu is on a level he most likely never reached before. Not to mention he has Matsu as an involuntary training partner (test subject) to hone his old and new jutsu's against.. So he will most likely have eclipsed himself when/if he meets the second Tsuchikage.

Well, if I understand correctly, chakra node cleansing is something that only Matsu can do. Meaning that without Matsu the cave is nothing more than a sensory deprivation chamber.

Nah dude this rules, Matsu will get/invent better jutsu or versions of it. Most of these people will fail learning it and most outside the village and Matsu's group will as well. This is more reinforcing loyalty and comradiree, Matsu needs followers thay believe in him just as much as he needs strong jutsu.

Oh yeah Gengetsu definitely knows, he just thinks Matsu is going to overextend himself before he actually bridges the gap. Seeing as he's the main character Gengetsu will likely let too much slide before he decides Matsu is no longer entertaining enough to keep alive.

You say that almost as if the other villages don't already have S rank jutsu. Rasengan requires a frankly absurd amount of chakra control and turns the learning curve into a learning cliff which is why there's only been 8 users (10 if youinclude other media). The only reason Naruto was even able to make this into his signature jutsu was because he already had a signature (forbidden) jutsu to compensate his lack of control and let's not forget that Kakashi knew and could use this jutsu at a young age, but still uses chidori over it since Rasengan itself lacks nature transformation. TL;DR rasengan is too hard to learn when there are other easier and still effective jutsu available.

My hope is that the Chuunin exams will take place in Kumo as we haven't really gotten any content from there yet. My next choice would be Iwa so that Matsu can have a rematch against Shibito and possibly see the rivalry between the Mizukage and Tsuchikage.

Erm, what?. No seriously, wtf?. Why. On. Earth. Would. You. Give. Out. A. Custom. Made. A RANK Jujitsu?!?!?!?!. You know why the top players don't win with the water bullet etc?... its because everyone knows it, because everyone understands how to use it, what it's strengths and weaknesses are, how to look out for someone using it. It's gets used by everyone so it's not a a hidden ace, and has zero value at high level fighting. now that's he's literally handed out the instruction manual, the other hidden villages WILL get ahold of it, WILL teach it to everyone as it promotes both amazing control and is amazing CQC ability. And very soon after that, it'll be no more useful that the water bullet.... It's an insanely dumb idea to allow a hidden ace to be given out to loads of people... maybe just one or two other prodigies who wouldn't give it up under torture... you know like exact opposite of almost everyone who's about to learn it. I personally don't think you thought this through... Rather than teach them A or S rank jujitsu, teach them D through B useful/strong jujitsu and then come up with training that enhances them, that enhances their bodies and teamwork Do that which keeps them alive, not hand out stuff that will immediately (within a year) of it being used by average Shinobi will be in the hands of your enemy. Then in the hands of all the S rank enemy nin.... who will move faster, are stronger and will be able to kill all the people you taught it too, just like if an S rank nin used a water bullet against Genin and Jonin using water bullet, the S rank wins every time. So by letting such a strong ace out into the world, all you truly do is make your enemies stronger and you, the MC, the only hope your friends have of someone fighting off a A/S Nin weaker...

Whoo! Mid month Riot!! I'll place 2 tacos 🌮 on the exam being in held in Kumo. Man, i already knew Matsu had some brass ones, but the balls to just declare his goal in the restaurant like that? Damn. Kinda surprised that his jr Tsunade punch did nothing to the rock armor when it can pierce kaguya bone armor. Gotta admit ill be a bit disappointed if he doesn't become as famous for his explosive strength as Tsunade does someday, personally i find her super punches to be way cooler than the rasengan. That said im glad ti see the rasengan take center stage this chapter. Can you imagine the look on minatos face when hes showing off his new jutsu to Jiraya that he spent months/years working on, just to be told hes basic and that its already a common jutsu in kiri. Even has the same name. I hope that Sayuki realizes that the process IS the result, particularly with training for the Rasengan. If you want to learn the technique, practicing it will force you to develop better chakra control and reserves until you can use it. You dont just gain a technique, you become better than you were through the grind of practicing. Im kinda surprised that hes giving up the location of the chakra bath. Sure its not as valuable to him personally now that hes cleaned out his nodes. But letting anyone know at all risks losing access to it forever. Still, its a pretty awesome carrot to give to his closest followers to keep them happy under him. Sorry about the rambling stream of consciousness, but man i love this story.

Given enough time the civilians' jutsu library will surpass some of the clans' personal hordes. A group steam bath to unwind with comradery. My guess is on Takigakure, Hidden Waterfall. A minor village with a tailed beast probably has enough political capital to hoast a Chunin Exam.

Ya know, that string jutsu could be used for some wild/inhuman maneuvers. If a punch might miss, use some strings to pull your fist back into position. Can't dodge a blow, use some strings to yank yourself out of the way. It'd look creepy as hell though.
