Question of the Week: June 9th, 2022

Yay, Question of the Week is back! After a bit of a break, it's time to bring back this super fun weekly post, to see what you all have to say about various random things. Some of those things are serious, some not-so-much, but all of the answers are interesting because they come from you, my lovely Patrons!

This week we're going to go easy, I think. Here's the question:

๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ What is your go-to self-care activity? ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ

That's it! Pretty simple, right? I'm really curious to see what awesome ideas you all have for this one. Goodness knows I'm always being told to practice more self-care - maybe I'll learn something! Let's see what you all come up with!

Have a terrific week, everyone, and stay awesome! I'll see you around the comments!

I've heard cooking is relaxing and can be an awesome form of self-care. That's a great idea! And a wide range of musical options while you do so just makes it even better! Audio books are fantastic, too, I'm a big fan of those myself. All the entertainment of a good book but letting someone else do the heavy lifting while you relax and enjoy. Perfect! Thank you for sharing, Walter! ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ

Memories and associations like this are such a gift, aren't they? And music, of course, is one of the ultimate forms of self-care. This sounds absolutely lovely, Angela! Thank you for sharing! ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ

Cook cooking zens my mind out. I play some music That's gonna range from Johnny Cash to zodico Depending on the time A-day. If I'm too tired to cook then my go to is audible book .

First some context. As a little girl taking piano lessons, my teacher was a big fan of Liberace. She showed me an old clip of him with his signature candelabra atop the piano, playing romantic music by candlelight. That image and the mood it invoked stuck with me, feelings of tranquility and being carried away. When our time together came to an end, my piano teacher gave me an antique candelabra as a gift. So now, when I need to unwind, I turn off the lights, close the blinds, light the candelabra atop the baby grand, wear something sensuous, flowing and romantic, and I play.
