Question of the Week: March 24th, 2022

Last week's question was super fun and the answers were really creative and outside-the-box, which is awesome. Thank you to everyone who shared!

This week I'm feeling the need to bring an extra dose of positivity to the world so our question is going to attempt to do just that. Here we go!

Here's this week's question:

💜💜 What is the nicest compliment you've ever received and how did you feel when you received it? 💜💜

There's never a bad time to remember the bright spots in our lives, is there? I can't wait to read what you all come up with!

Have fun!

What a tremendous feeling, david! Having someone compliment something we aren't fond of about ourselves is a lovely feeling, isn't it? I'm so glad you were given such a wonderful compliment! Thank you for sharing! 💜💜

i’m in my first real talking stage rn with someone who actually likes me and she said how much she loves my voice even tho I hate it, I felt great after it want that feeling again.

Awww, that's seriously (well...) beautiful. I'm in awe of anyone that can not just work with people but *work with people,* iykwim. But having that direct effect on their well-being and seeing/hearing how much you've helped? I say be as mushy as you want. That kind of joy is priceless (and obviously well-deserved).

Fix

Okay, since y'all have given me some pretty epic answers, I guess it's my turn, right? This is something I struggle with myself, so I understand how difficult it can be to talk about the compliments people pay us. The ones that stand out for me are the ones where I've had a genuine impact on how someone feels. My irl career is about helping people, and every time I'm able to give someone peace of mind, or someone tells me they were able to sleep at night as a result of what we've worked on, that, to me, is the highest compliment I can receive. It means I've done something right, I've contributed something worthwhile, and someone's life is better because of it. I see some ugly things on the regular, and it's amazing to me when people who started our interactions as stressed-out, worried, nervous, anxious wrecks end up calm and confident in where they're headed. Sometimes the best compliments are the ones that are left unsaid. They're the hugs at the end of the meeting, or the extra squeeze in the handshake as they leave my office. They're the emails a few months later, updating me on progress and telling me how much better they're doing. Those are the compliments that make me feel ten feet tall and fill my heart with such gratitude and light that sometimes I feel like I'm going to burst with it. For me, this is what brings me pure joy. Well, that was a long and mushy answer, but here we are. 😊 Thanks again, everyone, for sharing! 💜💜
