August 2020 SFW - Cover Song - 'You Don't See Me'

Let's try this again, shall we? I posted this song last night, as I'm sure you all received notice for, and then drama happened and I removed it while I sorted that out. 

Long story short, my anonymous form was inundated with hate because another performer had already posted this same song over a month ago. This performer is a friend of mine, and was the person who originally encouraged me to record it. She even sent me the backing track so I could record it. I thanked her in the Reddit post because it started with her, and linked back to her version as well. I didn't think this would be an issue. Apparently that was not the view everyone shared. 

I removed the post from Reddit, the song from here, and the anonymous form from my profile, while I reached out to the performer to make sure she wasn't hurt or upset because I posted this. If she was, then yes, the song would never again see the light of day. I don't put work above people. But this performer is pretty amazing and was shocked at the hate I had received. She gave me her full blessing and so, here it is again, in all its glory, my cover version of 'You Don't See Me' from the Josie and the Pussycats movie. 

Just so this post isn't all about the drama from last night, I originally recorded this as a gift for a dear friend, with this other performer's blessing, as I mentioned. It actually started during a movie night in her Discord server, where we discussed that they had watched this movie not too long ago and how much we all loved the song. One friend in particular was adamant that they wanted to hear me do this, and because they've helped me out with a few projects, I recorded it for them. 

When I cleaned up the backing track and mixed the vocal, I was insanely proud of how well it turned out, and since I'm taking a break from audios this month, I thought it would be fun to give you all a song as the SFW offering instead. This one seemed like a good choice. So, with everyone's blessing, here it is.
