My mother-in-law sent me a huge bouquet of mylar balloons a week ago for my birthday. They're attached to the door of my laundry nook right now. I had them kicking around on my shoot day, so I got stupid with them.
Will they ever deflate?
I have the murder mystery show next weekend and another show the following weekend (with an entirely new number), so I opted to stay in for my birthday. Tried to relax and do nothing.
Which is how I wound up building my massive boa fans.
Seriously, these things are huge. I mean, I love them and all. They're just so huge. I worry about slinging them around on the stage for fear of pulling something! I have some conditioning to do to keep from hurting myself while using them.
Let me clarify. They aren't that heavy. Maybe four or five pounds each. They're just large and awkward. I have to learn how to walk without stepping on the boas. Not sure how I'm going to do a four-minute act with them. Still hoping I can strip out of a trick corset with them in my hands.
But, aren't they gorgeous? Seemed like a fun way to "relax" on my birthday.
I don't have a project for "relaxing" on Valentine's Day. I may just have to kick back with some chocolate like the rest of America.
