Hey everybody! October was busy as heck for me in real life, but I'm hoping November will slow down a bit here and give me more time to work. Everything is going to continue on as it has, we aren't starting any new projects or anything, so I'll spare you that song and dance. I'd like to talk for a sec about Audrey's Condition.
Something that frustrates me a little bit and I'm sure it must for you as well is the slow burn nature of it. I've been working on this comic for 11 months now and we're on page 63. After all this time there is still so much yet to be revealed about the story and nature of what's going on, but this leads me to a problem with the methods I'm using here at least in terms of making a comic of this nature. I wanted to use naturalistic storytelling, where characters learn about things as they become relevant in the story. Problem is, it takes me about 6 hours to complete a page, and I can only put out two per week on a good week. This makes everything super SLOW. So much of these 63 pages has been setup for future goodness. Every character, every individual thing I've included in the story up until now is important later. Jake is important, Harper is important, Lydia and Martin from the first couple pages are important. We still have two major characters that I haven't introduced yet. Biggest of all though, the MAIN HANGUP about how Audrey's titular condition works, the big thing that makes the rest of the story interesting, hasn't been revealed to you guys because it hasn't come up naturally in the story. It's a tradeoff of trying to make this thing good and interesting, and right now it's to the detriment of the shenanigans. I want shenanigans, but I have to wait because I want my tummy comic to be good to read on its own, not just as a serial internet thing.
All that being said, you guys have been very kind about it's slower paced nature and I look forward to how you react when we really get into the good stuff!

Already 11 months? Time flies, but can't say Its bother, helps with surviving nnn. Plus there Is no need to rush

Though I do understand the frustration where it feels that the ember of interest is fading. You’ve made great works of art before and I’m certain everyone here still has trusted in you. Another benefit is that burnout can be staved off a little longer. lol

2025-11-02 15:02:22 +0000 UTCI honestly encourage the slow but good approach. You gotta look after yourself, and I think we all anticipate every page excitedly. It's going to be an absolute artwork, and I *can* wait 🥰
