I just looked up the chapter and i made a mistake. What im talking about might just be put into season 3. Disregard what i said then.

the end of an incredible era. the show leaves us with a simple, yet deeply profound mantra: i have no enemies

I know the reference to Clockwork Orange but haven't actually seen the movie before lol

What makes Vinland Saga so great in my eyes is not even the messages the author tries to convey. Imho it is more that the characters from Thorfinn to minor side characters come to conclusions and form their woldviews in a manner that makes sense based on their experiences and environments they live in. It makes the world and characters so believeable and its easy to get invested in them aswell as being profound, mature and distinct. Survial being paramount to Einar even if life kicks you down. Askelladd being torn between his dual heritage and trying to meet the expectations he sets for himself with his welsh/celtic/roman heritage and hating himself for being a viking. Or Canutes defiance of his deity, not stopping to believe that the deity exist but going against it. If you'd ask me the conclusion Thorfinn came to aswell as his worldview is very naive and flawed. But it just makes sense for him to form those. He was robbed of most of his childhood, so its natural he would be naive because he did not get the chance to mature in some ways in the world he got thrust into. It's so exiting to experience his journey. I love this show and can't wait for the rest of the manga to be adapted. Hope you two will come along for the rest of the ride :)

If you're interested i would recommend reading the manga chapter for this episode. The anime is great at adapting the manga since the author is so closely involved. I do however think the original way Ylva interacts with Thorfinn is handled in a more mature way.

If you ever considered doing a "read along" on the channel, VS officially released its final chapter this year. If nothing else, it's definitely worth picking up just to read on your own. Especially how a lot of anime don't reliably get new seasons. Also, last season ending was showing future characters in the story, Einar is actually in that end season sequence.

Thorfinn takes 100 hits from a hulking man, but gets taken out by one hit from Ylva 🤣🤣🤣 Such a funny gag to watch lol. Fake Thorfinn pretending to be Thorfinn when they see Thorfinn's mom is a good runner-up gag here 😂😂😂 Thorfinn is home 😁😁😁
