I think the symbolism of the deer and wolf in the forest was Einar as the deer and Thorfinn as the wolf who have struggled in their dark lives as well fighting to stay alive.

2025-10-25 22:40:47 +0000 UTCA small clarification: the rear guard was actually closer to Canute before he said they won't need them. i.e. He didn't think they would need them because he didn't think Ketil's army could push as far through their lines. So, instead, he sent them forward to finish the battle faster and capture Ketil. This actually leaves him more vulnerable to Thorgil's ambush, not less.

2025-10-25 18:40:47 +0000 UTCSome episodes ago, when we first see Ketil in bed with Arnheid, he admits to her that he's not "iron fist" Ketil. He has indeed believed his own hype. In a lot of ways, he's like a more sad and realistic version of Buggy in Impel Down and Marineford. Misunderstanding led to both of their ascents and they both took full advantage of it. But, where Buggy is hilarious and lovable, Ketil has lost his grip on reality and is just lashing out. Also, poor Arnheid 😢
