It's crazy how many people don't like the 2nd season of this show because it's not as action packed as the 1st season. The juxtaposition of the seasons is what makes this series so good.

To dive in where Gardar is as he's dying, reliving his life and experiences, regrets and mistakes, it really makes you feel even more for him as he passes. Yeah, definitely in the top episodes of Vinland Saga, definitely not my favorite, and the pain is not about to stop just yet. TISSUES READY!!

2025-10-21 17:23:40 +0000 UTCIts sad that both Gardar and Thors had to experience war first before realising that there is never a good outcome going into it to begin with but that's what was the norm to them and how not going to war would've been seen as cowardness. What I also really loved about this episode when I first watched it was how Arnheid was able to keep her sadness and tears away as best as she could to bring comfort and peace with the little time Gardar had left. Season 2 is a masterpiece for a reason
