In his view, God abandoned us after Eden and isn’t coming to save us, so he will be the one to do it. I’m sure seeing God as “Father” made it hurt more just as he realized his earthly father didn’t love him either. And to think he also was there when Askeladd spoke of Artorius and how he can’t wait anymore

He probably could’ve hanged with the best of em in any era but unfortunately he lives during the time of Canute, it’s pretty cool to learn more history about this time period because the Vikings were actually so influential on European politics during the Middle Ages
