E563 - A Shocking Fact! the True Identity of Hordy!
E564 - Back to Zero! Earnest Wishes for Luffy!

Sorry for the later than usual post today, we had some audio issues again unfortunately 😩. You'll probably mostly notice it in our discussion for 564. Hopefully it's not too distracting! We find just who Hordy really is and we were definitely not expecting this, though it totally fits what we've seen! Can't wait for more as always!

The worst form of hatred. Empty hatred (i hate you just because i feel like there is something to hate you for. Ungrounded hatred rooted in generational ,,because my ancestors did". Its dangerous, because there is no line, no reasoning, no defense against it. And its also dangerous because its existence is exploitable. Whenever you come up with concerns regarding certain policies against or in favor of some group of people (based on experience or information), you can be just be labeled as ,,empty hater/racist/ect" too and you arguments/data are thrown out of the window. Its double-edged sword. And this is widely used in politics, racial discussion, moral questions, all forms of ,,interactions" between two opposite sides of conflict/ideas/discussion, ect.

I'm so glad to hear you two understanding the complexity of Hody's inherited hatred, most people hate this arc because they don't understand his motivations so it's very refreshing to see someone else get it

What is more scarier than someone with a grudge? Someone with hatred that stemmed from nothing, and that they allowed to consume them and anyone around who opposed. There is a fine line between having and coming from nothing, and then wanting everything in return. What is there to lose by gaining everything when you come from nothing? Hody was so predictable for me in this sense, but that reveal paired with fukaboshi's reaction still sends chills through my body.

i think you were spot on with the deduction that inherited will, even though its mostly depicted as positive in the show up to this point, can also be very negative for someone that is brought up in an enviroment that nourished blind sided hate. i think hody gets this hero complex because he thinks, if its not arlong or tiger, then he must be the chosen one. And the pills are the temptation and the sign to be that chosen one. they all seem to be orphans and their only role models are other fishman that only knew hardship and wrestled different with it. Hody must have felt, that he has the power and probably due to his upgringing the recklessness to implement the superiority complex of his into others making him effectivly, in his believe, the harbinger and savior for a whole new race. But not wihtout a cleanse beforehand. Of course sprinkle in a bit of narcisissm and the brew gets a bit explosive.

I’m from Nepal, and the Gen Z’s there used the straw hats flag as a symbol of revolution to overthrow the government. This show transcends all. I’ve never seen anything like this 🇳🇵

Zoro is so proud of his son, Chopper. The hatred Hordy has is also such an interesting way to continue the themes of inherited will that One Piece has.

And how have you come to this conclusion? It seems to me the blind hate is coming from the other side. Skeptical? Which political factions are championing the notions of generational hate on the basis of group identity? Which way are the assassinations in the US (attempts & actuals) going and why? Regarding the middle east, which side believes that the eradication of the other is not only justified, but morally righteous, and educates their youth to believe the same?

I'M BACKKKK OMG I'VE MISSED Y'ALL. Their earnest wishes to get back to zero ALWAYS gets me man. Imagine if the world could just love and rely on each other the way Fishmen could with Whitebeard and now Luffy. When I first watched these past episodes, I predicted that Hody would say humans did nothing, and he was an embodiment of generational ideals of hatred and discrimination. It's truly heart-aching to see the state of the world without regard for future generations, as was Fisher Tiger and Otohime's intentions for children. In a world so driven by technology and monopolies, the line between reality and mis/dis/fake information is ruling us so dramatically and unfortunately. We cannot even comprehend that what we share and indulge in -- what we think is just for ourselves -- influences future generations. This is precisely what I love about Fishman Island. I imagine if we centered the collective a little move rather than individual interests, we could advocate and become better like Tiger and Otohime wanted.

Hordy and his gang are just what Zionists and MAGA are
