Hi Patreon!! ❤️
We're FINALLY getting around to posting this movie reaction! This one will stay exclusively here on Patreon.
As I'm sure you can tell, it's been a while since we've recorded this one, but we are so stoked to be sharing it. You'll probably notice we're much more comfortable on camera now lol (Or at least Haylo is, Kiss has ALWAYS been comfortable 😂) These movies are actually out of this world and we have always been obsessed. Really can't wait until the third installment! Thank you so much for watching with us and we hope you enjoy.

Absolutely fantastic reaction, thank you! I saw this movie in IMAX with my sister and honestly it was incredible. Not sure if anyone mentioned this but in Dune lore, when a laser hits a shield it creates a fusion reaction which causes a nuclear explosion, which is why both parties generally are very cautious about that It should be no surprise to anyone by now that Frank Herbert took a lot of inspiration from desert arabs and Islam for his story. The Mahdi is an Islamic figure which will come into power near the end times and rule with justice, righteousness etc. He will actually also, in part, prepare the way for the return of Jesus Christ (pbuh), support and help him fight the anti-christ...etc. The details are very interesting. The arabic word 'adab' means good/beautiful manners, etiquette, refinement - and 'Mu'addib' translates to someone who teaches/trains in manners, teacher, instructor. So just like Hamd means 'praise', and Muhammad means the praised one, or the praiseworthy one. Very simply, changing the term, with 'mu' in the beginning, implies someone who embodies the concept. I really love the Dune lore, and the amount of thought Herbert put into it, but he's also been hugely criticized for a lot of the portrayal, it's like an 'exoticized' image of desert people. Also, like simple minded violent fundamentalist fanatics who'll just follow a strong leader no matter what he does, (critical thinking, embodied by Chani, is in the minority) is really the biggest criticism, it paints a stereotypical picture of Arabs/Muslims. I think Denis Villeneuve did an excellent job adapting it in his minimalist style. Again, the reaction was fantastic, but I do feel bad on some level that you guys didn't experience this in IMAX, cause, trust me, it was, literally, EXHILARATING, all of it. Heart pounding. I mean just wow - especially the grandfather worm scene, breathtaking. If they show it again in IMAX where you are, I highly suggest watching it Thank you again for the great reaction!! Take care also ps. Suddenly yelling out "Lisan al Ghaib!" became a hilarious meme for a while after whenever someone was 'right' about something lol

If you liked the score and also Chalamet, I suggest you watch Interstellar next! (Although Chalamet has a small role in it)

The whole scene with Paul going through the sandworm right of passage was awe inspiring in IMAX. The thunder with every thumper hit, the deep droning of the shai hulud approaching, and the OST swelling when Paul stands was almost overwhelming. The whole theater erupted like the Fremen did

Guess who’s back

I am a huge Dune nerd. I own all the books and periodically read all of them again. And these movies get me emotional because how well Denis Villenueve adapted it to the big screen. I’m just so happy how people have seen these movies and embraced Dune and are super invested in this story

First of all, i'm super happy that i could watch your reaction to the Dune movies, but then i'm sad for you not watching them in cinema. This movies are made for the big screens. Here some facts, if you want them ^^ The Spice is mostly dried worm pee :D so when they drink the water of life, its pur and very potent spice. The dose is so high that Paul, who was bred to be this powerful mind, got the powers to watch into all kinds of futures. I'm a little sad, that you cheered for him at the end, even if you felt some fear of him ^^ Frank Herbert had to write the second book, because most people didn't understand that Paul was not a hero. The Fremen are manipulated to wait for their white savior, so they don't free themself. Paul did know that, that's why he didn't want to go south, because then he would use them to gain power and this results in a war with 60 billion people dying. I like the changes from the book here. There were no fundamental fremen. They all believed in Paul. Villeneuve did a good job to show us the lies these people were told, so they can be used in the right moment. Seeing Paul takes over the power always breaks my heart. I'm happy you enjoyed the movie. It's one of my favorite of all time. I hope you will watch Part 3 in cinema next year, you deserve that :3

I can't believe you guys. You're SO GOOD at asking about stuff. Yes, there is significance to the blue scarf, and yes, there is significance to where she's been tying it, and there is a different meaning when tying it around her arm. Since the movie doesn't say anything about it, neither will I, but MAN y'all are so good!

The Harkonnens are true practitioners of the ol’ Tom Brady kiss your family members on the lips.

I think you would really like the series Dune: Prophecy.

M

His visions of Jamis wasn't the Jinn-thing. He saw different versions of future, and in some of them there was never a duel between Paul and Jamis, and in these versions of future Jamis was mentoring him. That's the visions

I love Hayley

AS WRITTEN ! LISAN AL GHAIIIBBBB

Maxime Goettelmann

who waited longer the people of Arakis for Lisan Al Gaib or us for this reaction. 😂😂🔥thanks for the drop as always

Strawhat Gabo

When my friends and I are just hanging out goofing around, and someone does something mildly impressive, like chuck some trash into the trash bin from across the room, or catch something they drop before it hits the floor, we say "LISAN AL GAIB" like Stilgar does at 1:27:14
