It's a testament to the skillful writing that while it's not unreasonable you'd cheer on Thorfinn punching the farmhand like Einar did - you rather/also feel worry.

Then his and Einar's wheat farm gets destroyed by those retainers π‘π‘π‘ Love Sverkel taking them under his wing, though and Pater looking out for them is a little bit of wholesomeness in these dark times for these friends.
