Marcoh was so badass this episode. His character has been written so well (though to be fair, there isn't anyone in this show who isn't written well). But his journey so far as a man who is genuinely remorseful about what he's done in the past, views himself as a monster, and is trying his best to stop the other monsters from committing more atrocities is really compelling. I think his determination to genuinely atone and do better has also been influential on Scar's character development. In a more subtle way than Winry's influence, but it's definitely there. It's almost crazy to think of Scar at the beginning of the story ending up caring about Marcoh, a man who murdered innocent Ishvalans to make a weapon that was used to murder even more innocent Ishvalans.
