The letter(song) for the show could also be addressed to the Major from Violet. I have a feeling that Erica and Benedict may be together, don't you think? Roland deserves all the credit for the idea of delivering the letters during the airshow! Back to the final episode..... We saw how Violet's sealed letter found it's way to the field of Violets. When we first met her, she was writing to the Major and the wind caught it and blew it around almost in the same fashion.
