Please link your Discord accounts to keep your Benefits

Hi and as always, thank you for your support 💓

To streamline the process of giving new/existing Patrons access to the benefits they are due on ballchasing, I'm setting up a new automated process where:

• A new patron pledges their support
• Patreon will automatically give the new patron the corresponding Role in the ballchasing.com Discord server 
• A Bot will message the Patron in ballchasing.com with instructions to link their Discord account with their ballchasing.com account
• Upon completion, the new Patron gets access the their tier benefits

Whereas before, I have to message every new patron, ask them for their steam id, and add them by hand to the database.

For this to work, I'll need your help !

• If not already done, please join the ballchasing.com Discord server 
• If not already done, In patreon, please link your (same) Discord account 
• The ballchasing.com Bot will take care of the rest

This should result in a much leaner and faster process

To get you your rewards/benefits as soon as you pledge support, without waiting for me to manually message you

2 new perks

I just pushed a new version which grants you, my patrons, 2 new perks:

• Higher maximum number of replays in group stats: group stats are limited to around ~333 games. But for patrons, you get higher limits. Check this FAQ entry for the exact limits
• Your uploads get higher priority in the processing queue, according to your tier: GCs first, then Champions, Diamonds, and regular users

API rate limits & future patron benefits

Hello dear Patrons !

A quick message to inform you about some recent changes to the ballchasing.com API rate limits and the advantages you get as patrons, but also some future perks you will soon be getting:

Rate limits

• GC patrons: 16 calls/second
• Champion patrons: 8 calls/second
• Diamond patrons: 4 calls/second
• All other users: 2 calls/second

N.B.: There are no rate limits on the upload APIs.

Please do not hesitate to get in touch in case your integration requires higher rate limits, I'm sure we can find a way to accommodate both the server resources and your use case.

Future Benefits

I'm working on providing patrons with more benefits as a token of gratitude: your contributions are keeping the site alive:

• Group Downloads: be able to download a replay group as a zip file (with the replays organized in directories)
• Replay group stats are currently limited to around ~333 replays (assuming 3v3 games). I'll be raising these limits for the patrons according to their tier
• Stay tuned: more to come !

Hello Patrons !

First of all, I would like to reiterate my thanks for your support !

I'm writing this to announce that the ballchasing.com API got a steroids shot and now goes well beyond the upload endpoint:

• List/Filter replays
• Retrieve a replay detailed stats
• Edit a replay's title visbility
• Assign replays to groups
• Delete replays
• List/Filter replay groups
• Retrieve a group stats
• Edit groups
• Delete groups

With more to come !

This new set of APIs is in closed beta for the time being.

You, being patrons, do have access to those.

If this interests you, please go ahead and play with the APIs, and I would be grateful for any feedback you can provide.

Replay Groups Sharing

Ohai Patrons !

A quick post to let you know about a new (much requested) feature: the possibility to share replay groups.

Before, for a replay group to be accessible for others, its replays must be public.

With this new feature, you, the creator of a replay group, can enable/disable group sharing.

Clicking on the share button will display a popup:

When enabled, you can copy/paste the group link and share it with others.

Anyone with the group link can view all its contents, including private/unlisted replays.

This feature is reserved for beta testers only, which includes you as a patron.

Please give it a try if you are interested, and do not hesitate to report any issue you encounter.
