Color Walk 5 | One Piece |

Another fun and COLORFUL example of Oda's creativity! It's so neat hearing more about his personal journey and struggles at the beginning of these. Then top it off with all of our favorite crew and we are in for a great time! Thanks so much and we hope you enjoyed this as much as we did!

I really loved the insight into Oda-sensei's insecurities with colour, and i am sooooo thankful One Piece is as colourful as it is. You rock Oda!

Adrian Ramirez

I like the SBS and the cover stories, but as someone who loves to draw the Color Walk is my favorite segment by far! You guys have me scouring the Internet for prints!

Some fun facts. The animated show Vicky the Viking is based on the Swedish children's book series Vicke Viking. The production of the show was commissioned by German and Austrian public broadcasting stations in the 1970s and animated by Japanese studios, because they were the best by far back then . I read some of the books and watched the show as a kid (not in the 70s though, I am not that old). So thanks to Sweden, Germany and Austria for making One Piece possible. Vicky the Viking was also the inspiration for the creator of Vinland Saga.

Don't panic

Oda's earliest inspiration for OP wasn't exactly Vikings in general... to be more accurate it was an anime from the 70s called "Vicky the Little Viking" which was his favorite series growing up. It's pretty adorable, can watch it on youtube if you want, the animation style reminds me a lot of Rocky & Bullwinkle.

Ziggy Stardust

i could watch these all day!

I love going on these walks with you two. BTW Oda said Vikings are his favorite type of pirates.

I cannot imagine One Piece with more muted colors. Oda's was born to be colorful!

Sir Sadness

Oda’s earliest inspiration was a tv show called Vicky the Viking
