For the first time in her life, Hancock meets a man who is the opposite of everything she’s known about men. Remember she has preconceived notions and it’s very heavily implied that she and her sisters were SA’d. And from what we know about Celestial Dragons..yea 😞 but along comes Luffy who shatters her understandable perception of men. Probably the first man to look at her without lust filled eyes. He hates the same enemies she does. Luffy protected Hancock and her sisters secret without even thinking and he showed her how selfless he is when he chose to have Margaret restored over a ship to leave. So while it’s played for laughs it’s easy to see why Hancock would fall in love with Luffy.
