You need to read into the history of Gaza a little more, my dude. For the best context of current events, start with the Ottoman empire, followed by the British legislation after WW2. It's a complex history, and not as one-sided as you portray it to be.

this episode is exactly like what is happening in the palestine today! A ethnicity that is massacred, and then a rebelious group arise(scar), as a product of that violence, and people surprise themselves! "why that violence is happening???", well.... : As always girls, great reaction!!!

humanity has great sides too, history proved it many times

Just gonna point out that the title of the guy who said genocide was the answer is Fuhrer.

Mikael Lindström

Soooo, in fact a lot of manga/anime has the theme of genocide being the answer for war. This really puts into focus the impact that the nuclear bombs dropped during WW2 had on the Japanese people and their culture moving forward. Its literally the entire metaphor behind Godzilla. its sad, but it is also reality and it is the Japanese peoples way of accepting that reality and learning from it. hopefully it strikes a cord and makes everyone else learn from it as well.

Connor monk

why is genocide the answer? because Lust is not wrong humanity sucks. and we never learn from ourselves

May I suggest, and i think it's best, not to mention names of future characters until theyve seen the reactions. I think it's a good practice towards keep everything spoiler free

Excellent reaction as usual and loved your post episode discussion. It's a shame that this needs to be voiced in 2025, but as you both said - genocide is never the answer. It's interesting how they, as the state military, even realize and are honest enough to say that they annexed Ishbal which would inevitably end up causing the civil war/genocide. While it's not the first to introduce political and religious themes, it was one of the first, back then, to be a mainstream, popular anime to do so. There were others (the Gundams, Legend of the Galactic Heroes, Berserk...etc) but those were either niche or had their own audience. FMA:B was one of the first mainstream, and most popular to do this and weave these real life themes into it. There've been many since then of course, one of the most popular being AoT. Again, loved your post episode discussion, and, as usual, looking forward to the next ones

Ah, good ol' Armstrong coming in with the rescue. Also, Hughes just hiding is hilarious 😂😂😂

Ilsuk Yang

I love the Armstrong family and their artistic alchemy

Alexander Tonkins

That silence between you two during the recap makes it seem like you two are permanently affected by last episode. Still something I'm sure most of us are hit hard by so many years later. Anime at its best.

I can’t wait for ya’ll to meet Izumi, the theorizing is great!
