2024-12-25 22:44:29 +0000 UTCI love these episodes for 2 reasons. 1 because when given the chance to rescue his crew Luffy choses to stay and fight Luchi trusting his crewmates. I think most western hero figure don't trust their sidekick and insist on doing everything themselves. But Luffy completely trust the others to handle all forms of dangers and hardship. 2 I love how Oda shows how cold a 'world government' would be. The larger the government the less it cares about the average people.

In my head cannon he got the scares because his iron body wasn't strong enough to fully protect him, and as for the lack of blood I imagine it was because heat from the mortar fire burned the wound shut.
