The hero just happens have the same name as the actor Momo has crush on. Ken takakura is like Harrison ford type of guy. The joke is if a 16 year old kids type is a 80's action star.

There are lots of just wholesome character moments throughout and background characters that are very cheerful. it's well animated and sound design is top notch as well. You'll love it, i'm sure

2024-12-20 03:51:02 +0000 UTCYou will see a few moments of sexualization and quite frankly innapropriate male gaze moments (inherent to the manga culture in Japan) in this show, but if you manage to go pass that you will notice that this is a very mature manga in the sence that - just like One Piece - there is a lot more going on in the thematics that meets the eyes. Even in such a small season. It's an amazing story.

2024-12-20 01:33:22 +0000 UTCLMAO, at some point Carissa said something along the lines of "This sh*t's Nuts!" and I started dying of laughter lmao lmao! This is such a pleasant surprise! I had no idea you guys were going to start reacting to this so soon! It's cool how you guys said that one of you is scared of ghosts and the other is scared of aliens lol I think someone explained that Ken Takakura was an actor who portrayed macho, alpha male, leading roles, real 'manly' stuff, for that time. You can search him up on youtube (although youll probably get dandadan clips lol). The sexual stuff is a little shocking of course, although this is somewhat of a mainstream in (not all but) many anime. Whilst not necessarily my favourite anime, this really hooked me with the visual style, the action, the craziness and especially empathizing with both characters. I'm sure you guys've seen ahead, so I honestly can't wait for the next episodes The duo that does the intro is called "Creepy Nuts" (how apropos), and they've got a pretty unique style. One of the most reacted-to anime intros of 2024 was "Mashle: Magic and Muscles" season 2 intro "Bling-Bang-Bang-Born". And when I say reacted to, I mean that intro song/video was so good that it was reacted to without seeing a second of the anime, likely the best intro of the year possibly. Mashle is another hilarious anime youll likely be reacting to at some point. Anyway, THANK YOU BOTH for this very entertaining reaction and excited for Ep 2!!

He played a lot of tough, stoic, "manly" characters and is usually thought of being like Japanese version of Clint Eastwood. "I'm an awkward fellow, after all" is a relatively famous line of his. Momo's really into him and was looking to date someone that was similar to him (hence her dating the asshole at the beginning of the episode who vaguely looked like a young Takakura Ken.) Occult-kun just happens to share his name! They're two different people. She's taken by surprise since he just unknowingly quoted one of his lines and shares the same name as this giant celebrity crush she has.

They recently became really popular with the opening for the 2nd season of "Mashle: Magic and Muscles" called "Bling Bang Bang Born". I think you'll enjoy that opening, as well. It's easy to fall down the rabbit hole that is Creepy Nuts. Check YouTube for First Take videos of "Bling Bang Bang Born" and "Biriken". I think you'll become quick fans, too.
