Dammit, this is my fourth time watching this scenes and yet I cried again😭 279~283 are fillers but they have fun little spinoffs at the end! The voice acting is so cute.

First part is all known information at this point Second part is all known information in the manga at this point The lack of the information of the second part already showed effect in this episode. Not having Spandine introduced as the CP9 chief lead to uncertainty about what position they had in the marine and if the CP9 were actually only in our timeline or if they did in fact exist in the flashback. Yet at the same point in the manga, it is clear as day that they are CP9 and you don't have to guess if they actually used shave or if it just happened to be something similar..

These episodes are so heartbreaking! I somehow never thought about Robin refering to Saul when mentioning the D.-Name in Alabasta :O That makes so much sense! Some things I think are worth to point out: - Kuzan (Aokiji) was a Vice Admiral during the flash back. Nowadays he's one of the only 3 Admirals - Sengoku (the one with the goat) is noted as an Admiral in this flashback. Now he's the Fleet Admiral (he already appeared in the episode where they had the meeting to find a successor for crocodile) - Reminder: The 3 current admirals are: Aokiji, Akainu and Kizaru. These are actually nicknames for Aokiji = blue pheasant, Akainu = red dog, Kizaru = yellow monkey The following information was clearly stated in the manga at this point, but only hinted at or not even mentionned in the anime. As it's information you'd get in the manga, imho it's not a spoiler - if you'd still consider it a spoiler, don't read further. - Spandine is introduced in the manga as the "CP9 Chief" - confirming that these guys were in fact CP9 - Sakazuki (the guy who gave order to blow up the evacuation ship) is introduced in the manga with a box stating "(later known as Admiral Akainu)"

Robin’s backstory is probably one of my all time favorites as someone who’s caught up, it’s up there. It’s wild to think about how much of this new understanding and love we have for Robin and looking back at her first introduction as a mysterious unreadable villain

Yeah, it can get confusing bc they jump back and forth between the three Navy Admiral’s names/alias’s often Aokiji=Kuzan Akainu=Sakazuki Kizaru=Borsalino I’ve seen One Piece like 3 times and I had no Idea Kizaru’s real name was Borsalino until I started playing the One Piece Trading Card Game and got stomped by the Borsalino blocker card more times than I can count when playing against that terrifying Sakazuki black deck 😅

This isn’t a spoiler, it’s already been revealed. Spandam says earlier about honoring his father during the Tom/water 7 flashbacks. Then cut to Robin flashback where Spandine, CP9 Commander, looks similar to spandam and also makes a comment during a less serious comedic moment of “if I die, make my son the next commander in line!” after surviving Olivia’s attack on him. H&K might of missed that moment, bc they didn’t comment on it, but it was most certainly revealed.

Ladies, of all the reactions of yours I've seen, this is the only time that I cried more than y'all did 😭😭😭 Robin's ridiculously tragic backstory, the tragedy of Ohara, Saul's sacrifice, Robin getting to hold her mother's hand, Aokiji/Kuzan letting Robin live, and, of course, "I want to live," just, so good and so heartbreaking 😭😭😭. Man, I'm glad I wasn't out of tissues for this triple drop lol

It picks back up properly in 284, and they show all the new content in the correct order then. Also, there's a new opening (which is safe to watch) BUT there's no more ending songs after this point, so be ready to hit pause the moment "To Be Continued" appears, otherwise you'll see the preview for the next episode! ❤️

What a back story and what a captain Luffy is, to give Robin the trustiful feeling she needed after a lifetime of disappointment and betrayal. The scene when Luffy say to Sogeking burn the flag and he actually do it is awesome, I think this was the gesture that made Robin believe that they will never give up on her, ever (And made her biggest fear goes way). Come on, declaring war with the World Government to save a crew member (also friend), is quite a proof, right? Absolutely love to watch it again with you. 💖

Just in case you might be confused about the change in name of Aokiji. Kuzan is his real name. When you become an admiral, you get an alias or codename what ever you want to call it. So Kuzan got the name Aokiji which is japanese and translates to 'blue pheasant'.
