The vikings reached Britain where their language mixed with early English. If you look at it like that it all makes perfect sense.

Glanz = gleam/shine Bredt (region) = might be "Brett", which means board/plank, as it is a forest, but I'm not sure Also a nice play on words is that they are setting out in search for Aureole, which is supposed to be some kind of heaven to find Himmel's soul and Himmel also means heaven. So they are looking for heaven in two ways. And it is at "Ende", so it's at the end of their journey :)
