First of all, the animation is beautiful😭💖
Secondly, we hope you can understand our decision to not skip this cannon arc. Really sorry if this is upsetting, but we're sure it will fly by! We see on our filler list that there are some filler episodes as well, so we'll be skipping 220-225 when we get there. Please please keep the comments positive and kind to each another and remember that we are all here because we love this show. Appreciate you all so much and we'll see you soon for the next one!

Luffy thought melo melo beam was a slow at first. The weather is setup for water 7. Doffy, bellamy interaction. Tonjit says things are all streched out here because they live "freely" or some similar translation.

I also have a really wacky theory about how it will tie back into the main story in a few years. I heard the anime padded it out though with needless filler episodes. So perhaps be on the look out for those!

I'd say recent events in the manga have disproven that. This arc, Long Ring Long Land, is viewed the same way. There still hasn't been a "reason" as to why its contents connect to other arcs, but most people think that, just like Skypeia, there will be a place in the manga that will take things from LRLL and use it, establishing a reason to fully watch and understand this arc. It's also so damn short that people asking you to skip something Oda wrote himself is INSANE to me (and some of the same people wanted you to watch G8). Oda started planning/writing his "pirate" manga when he was 6. Do you think ANY of it should ever be skipped? If you do, I honestly don't care what your opinion about anything Oda does is then.

2024-09-27 18:54:25 +0000 UTCIf the episodes are getting shorter, I don't think anyone will mind if you do three of them at a time ;) There is a point where the anime got too close to the Manga and they started stretching out as much as they can, so you'll notice the intro will take longer, there's a summary of past episodes that also take longer and so on, as well as having a lot of dragged scenes in the anime itself like stares, moving clouds, waves and so on.

Not to mention the overall important it has for the whole story. Also, the next full saga begins before this arc is fully over so you would be missing context for a lot of stuff if you skipped it completely.

Plus, even if it's just a fun little side adventure, you really never know what could be brought back up hundreds of episodes later in this show

2024-09-27 16:16:07 +0000 UTCI'd recommend watching 225, as it has a small canon scene and the episode segues into 226, but skipping wouldn't be the end of the world. After this point, filler vs. canon will be much easier to identify. The guide you're using, while technically correct, doesn't give a lot of nuance (or identify when the filler is worth watching, like G8). That's one of the downsides to using it, because your alternative to using a very limited filler guide is asking a divided fanbase for answers. A fanbase who will give you different answers based on their valid opinions... which leaves you between a rock and a hard place.

It's truly unfortunate. I understand wanting to see reactions to a peak arc, but One Piece is literally about enjoying the journey. Skipping the story to reach fan favorite arcs faster is literally the antithesis of that.

Even during this little downtime, their connections deepen, especially for the newer members. Nothing too wild happens, but there are still some memorable standout moments. You’re so engaged, laughing, and enjoying it all—watching with you makes this little fun arc even better!

There is actually a filler episode (might be two) in an alternative world setting where Buggy and Foxy team up.

If it hasn't been shown in the anime, and they haven't brought it up themselves then assume they don't have any recollection of it. Don't use Easter Eggs in the live action as an excuse to spoil the anime. If you must bring it up please wait until it's actually been shown in the anime.

The only episodes I'd understand it for are 213-216, since those are anime-only ones, extending the cannon part by adding more games, so you wouldn't really be confused going from 212 -> 217, but I will be here for it either way :)
