2024-09-14 19:34:12 +0000 UTCSo, for the most part, Long Ring Long Land arc is NOT filler. There are a few filler episodes within the arc, but the bulk of it is VERY canon. Episodes 207-212 are canon, 213-216 are filler, 217-219 are canon, 220-226 are filler (with the last third of 226 being canon, really better to just watch the second half of the ep 226), and 227 & 228 are canon. Long Ring Long Land, should NOT be skipped. Remember people, we're watching these ladies' first time reaction to this, so let them come up with their own opinions. And stop asking them to skip canon sections of the story lol

Even though theyβre filler, skipping them might make the story feel a bit disjointed since they help maintain the flow of the arc. And Ep208 in particular, affects the transitions between episodes, while Ep219 contributes additional context that can enhance the overall experience. I donβt mind skipping them personally, but Iβd recommend including them to keep the experience more coherent.

2024-09-14 16:25:34 +0000 UTCSo this is what u should do Hayley and KIss. continue watching until u get to 208. skip 208--225. bad fillers. nothing of interest. Watch 226 (3/4 of the way near the end is cannon) . because 226 upward is main storyline continue. And 207 is a must watch. Not a filler.

2024-09-14 10:38:02 +0000 UTCG-8 arc is good, nothing against seeing that, but I'm one of the few who prefer the "LRLL" arc right after. Not just for canon reasons; it's fun and worth something to many. I like seeing people watch all of the anime version despite Toei fluffing it out, as to make your own opinions. But others are good at asking for all of it or at least the filler parts to be skipped, which is an understandable shame, but their impatience for a following saga shouldn't rob reactors' first experience.

I get it though, Long Ring Long Land is one of my least favorites too, but it is Canon, and a particularly βfoxyβ character does make a lot of random appearances when you least expect it so itβs good lore to know. I wonder if theyβll ever watch any of the movies? I still need to find some of the other lesser available movies to watch

These episodes with daily life on the ship and all the interactions between the straw hats are gems too. In fact whole of One Piece is one big gem, now that I think of it XD

I edited my prior comment to update that. It appears I misspoke when I said it is not canon. Sorry if I ruffled any feathers of the other patreons by sharing that.

That said, the immediate next arc is one of the worst in my opinion. After 206, I would recommend skipping to 226 at about 19:40 to continue into the next arc. I love getting to see your discussions about what you've seen so far. You guys are the best!
