Bon Voyage!

Haylo

You must have missed my reply to your theories under that video then. That "confirmation of a theory" like you name it was just as relevant as young Robin in that opening they've just watched ;) And of course I get your point, you've just chosen a bad example to pick on.

Wojciechu

Kiss! Don't be sorry for expressing your emotions girl, we're here for it 😂

Wojciechu

In the full length of 178 and 179 they said they will be reacting to it

Jake from SF

I love your reactions. Will you consider watching the G-8 mini filler arc that’s immediately after sky island? 🙏🏽 It really adds to the crew’s landing from sky island and there are some really great memorable moments in this arc that are loved in the fandom and you get to see some really funny interactions between the crew.

RAMbot

That makes sense.

J. Arlo Mullinix

Wiper momentarily taking down Enel is always awesome to watch. Enel getting back up a moment later, not so much

Ilsuk Yang

🤣🤣🤣🤣 do your ears hang low do they wobble to the floor do they shine in the light is it lightning is it gold. Could you throw it over your shoulders if it's hot it'll make you cold oh do your ears.. hang... low. Omg you guys are too much.

Jake from SF

It's translated as Endless vearth bc that's exactly what it is in Kanji. He does also write in furigana above it. Furigana is how to pronounce that kanji. So, it's endless vearth but pronounced as fairy vearth

Jake from SF

I got so excited when you guys said new intro I lost control of my brain and started pushing random buttons on the menu

Big Dog Jake

@Haylee & Carissa - to explain, Oda includes little mini-stories that span the cover pages of several consecutive chapters in the manga. These are 100% canon but are for the most part not animated due to low ratings on the episodes where they were first included (Koby & Helmeppo training with Garp during East Blue was one of them). Some are silly, but some contain pretty important panels that are never brought up in the anime. For the most part, you can read them after the arc they relate to, but there are one or two much later on where it's best to read them after/before particular episodes. If you'd like, I could link you a spoiler-free list of when to read certain cover stories, or create a list if I can't find one.

The Otter Man

That's a really good idea! I only mentioned on their own time if they didn't want to set up a whole series of reactions for them alone. If they do want to that would be really cool to see!

Ben Asay

If they're gonna do cover story reactions, they should probably do them in order (aside from the buggy and koby ones that got animated during east blue arc) and only after or during the arcs where the cover story was shown. I don't think that includes the one you are talking about until after the next arc.

The Otter Man

It ventures too far into spoiler territory

Ilsuk Yang

There's a cover story that comes at the end of this arc, you guys should check it out on your own time in between Skypiea ending and continuing on. It wasn't animated, and contains canon stuff. 😅

Ben Asay

It wasn't until this watch through that I realized what Eneru thinks he is and what he believes he is returning to. I can't really discuss because it involves stuff that happens in roughly a thousand episodes from now. Oda really likes to play the long game with his structure. When you first watch Sky Island it seems like he just made a bunch of nonsense up in his head but he hasn't. This may be one of the most important arcs in early One Piece lore wise and for a long time, there were people who insisted it was a nothing arc. You can easily skip it. It's just a pointless sidequest. I think this is being proven false and once One Piece is done and all is revealed, Sky Island is going to get a serious reappraisal. Sorry if this ventures too deep into spoiler territory.

J. Arlo Mullinix

Back in the day, all the fansubs translated "Endless Vearth" to "Fairy Vearth." You can even hear Eneru say the exact words "Fairy Vearth" when he refers to it. I'm not sure why when they did the official translations for the subs they called it "Endless Vearth." I always liked Fairy Vearth better. It has a more mystical and mysterious feel to it than just Endless Vearth.

J. Arlo Mullinix

Having Nami surrender and go with Eneru is even more tragic, when you think about what she went through with Arlong!

Sankai

@Allen Ruiz Because it's related to the content of these two episodes and I only noted it contains spoilers after reading through it again, so I added the spoiler warning.. But fair point.. 🤔Let me update it to remove the spoiler (updated :))

Sankai

Why even post if it contains a spoiler? Could of posted this when the next two episodes did drop.

Allen Ruiz

These two episodes are the perfect example for how just a simple confirmation of a theory can/could take out a lot of suspense! [edited by changing a spoiler warning to a spoilerfree version] In a previous video someone confirmed in the comments a theory the girls had. The thing is: By confirming the theory, they automatically confirmed what Eneru will do in the future. By having this confirmation in your head - even if it's just in the back of your head - you KNOW that Wyper's attack did not knock out Eneru at the end of this first episode! This is One Piece, in which a lot of unexpected things happen - having a "side character" knock out the villain of this arc would be crazy! Yet, just the confirmation imho takes away so much of just this scene! This is on the same level as showing love for Bon Clay while he's still a villain. The reaction changes from "OMG!" to "Oooh... that's why...". While you may not care, because you don't care about spoilers or don't think about comments so much, some of us do. Usually people who react to stuff, such as Haylo & Kiss don't like it either - additionally because it takes away from their genuine reaction, for which we're here. They also have clearly stated this in their message a few weeks back! Therefore, think twice before writing a comment. Avoid comments, which are hinting to stuff that didn't happen - even if you think it's obvious, you might accidentally ruin other scenes you've forgotten about (like these episodes). Try to write, as if you're only this far as well and enjoy their reaction! :) (just writing more, because the person I mean did it at least twice..!)

Sankai

Just a fun fact about the names of Enels attacks in this episode. 30,000,000 V Hino (Thirty Million Volts Thunder Bird) is a reference to the God of Thunder of the native American Iroquois/Haudenosaunee. And Kiten (thunder beast) is a reference to incarnations of lightning in the Japanese mythology. The drum ring on Enel's back is also taken from depictions of Raijin, the God of Lightning and Thunder in Japanese mythology / Shinto (religion). And El Thor (Eru Thoru) just means God's Judgement in Japanese. The reference to the Norse God Thor is obvious, but El is also Hebrew for God. It is difficult to recognize those references and word plays. Especially word plays can often only be recognized if you speak Japanese (very, very well). And for some it is hard because of lack of knowledge, e.g. not that many people do speak Hebrew. I just read about most of those things myself. But I really love that Oda does things like that. Oda is not the only mangaka who likes to do those things. But because of things like this I appreciate One Piece even more, even if I need explanations from others In case nobody mentioned it in the past. Oda also refers sometimes to real world pirates. Blackbeard is rather common knowledge, but Laffite from Blackbeard's crew is also the name of a famous pirate.

Don't panic

They confirmed that they will watch G8.

Jass

you two are always full of such good insights, a joy to watch as usual! also: unsure if anyone has mentioned this yet, and its a little while before this happens, but i wanna make sure yall know that the arc imemdiately after this one, G-8, while technically a filler arc, is considered by many to be the best filler arc in the whole anime and well worth watching! So please consider watching that one!

Dizzypoke

Eneru does mention that he was born on a sky island. I think his "return" to the Endless Vearth is more a metaphor for a kind of birthright journey.

Flansy

Ahhh things are ramping up, I’m excited for you guys to see the climax of this arc. Here we go!!!

MeteorJuice

Does anybody else think that they should react to weird things in the 4Kids dub, like the intro for starters?? lmao
