Whenever Luffy's logic about the south being warm is brought up, many in the fandom will point out how during Buggy's flashback, we can see him and Shanks arguing which pole is the coldest. Shanks says south but Buggy says north. So fans believe Shanks might have changed his mind at some point (or he found out himself by going to both, we never know) and this was part of the stories he passed on to Luffy. So Luffy connects north as cold and south as warm.

To be honest they are lucky to be watching together I always find watching shows or anime with a friend makes the show much more enjoyable because you get to discuss and talk about it. So I don’t doubt that’ll make them enjoy one piece much more than watching alone

Yeah, I think Gan Fall's goal in that moment is to say something to the tune of "your culture is a part of ours now", but to Wyper it's the worst thing he could possibly hear. It's a good early example of why cultural appropriation is such a hot-button issue: It can feel righteous and like something to aspire to for one party but completely insulting and destructive to another. And that's why the conversation always has to go deeper than surface-level cultural exchange if one wishes to coexist with another. Which is what I think Oda is trying to get at here.

I think this arc firmly establishes the gag that Zorro is the worst at following directions but somehow arrives first to the planned meet up point almost every time anyway. 😂 Zorro is the personification of "task failed sucxlcessfully."

i always thought of the Pumpkin juice incident as an great example of "what people try to say, what they are actually saying and what other thought they said" Ganfall wanted to connect with viper and say something like "we are the same as you and just want to grow food there and we can do it together" while viper understood "your homeland and holy ground is our pumpkin farm now get used to it"

HESO 🤘 As for the pumpkin juice, from Gunfall's point of view, he wanted to say the vearth has already become an essential part of the sky people like his favarite pampkin juce is and it needs the vearth . But Wiper, who has a history of being deprived of their home vearth , took Gunfall's word mean that he would not return the vearth because he liked pumpkin juice.

This is one of those episodes where Oda blow your mind by getting you realize how nuanced every One Piece site is with their own culture, technology, manners, customs but hints you on details that link them all anyways to the greater world/story 😎 this is masterful worldbuilding and storytelling!!!! So the whole "pumpkin juice" thing isn't explained outright. The way I saw it was Gan Fall trying to find a connection with the Shandians, however small. He wants peace, so it was meant as a compliment. However, Wyper's a bit of a loose cannon, so he took it as an insult. He thought Gan Fall was bragging about how his people stole the pumpkins from the Shandians.
