2024-06-17 18:56:59 +0000 UTCI watched everything through "To the Top" Part 1, and partway through part 2. I though it was alright, but not great. It had its moments, but kinda felt like it was going to get good all the time but never reaching a point where you had amazing episode after amazing episode. I personally wouldn't recommend it based on that, but that's just me; it is popular for a reason!

2024-06-13 21:18:40 +0000 UTCWell if you told me that one of the characters has pants that eat ice cream, then I would be on the lookout for "the character whose pants eat ice cream" and I'd speculate everytime I meet a new character, I'll be looking out for said character "is this the guy whose pants eat ice cream?" "Oh this guy can chop his body up into tiny pieces? Well there's a guy who pants eat ice cream, apparently, so that's not that surprising." Bad example, but it's speculation that comes from an outside source. It's not organic speculation that comes from actually engaging with the material, which they are doing on the regular and making great theories of their own. The difference is you have the information and you're feeding them information they don't have -- so by saying "wait till you see the guy whose pants eat ice cream", it robs them of speculation. For what it's worth, even me using this obviously exaggerated example is a spoiler. I'm basically saying there's nobody whose pants eat ice cream (that we haven't seen demonstrate that ability thus far), which also sets an expectation, and I apologize for this disappointing revelation. Even if it seems obvious to you, this is One Piece we're talking about. One Piece is amazing, the possibilities are boundless, and the imagination on display is unparalleled, and these two have a knack for engaging with that. Why take that away by hinting?

What do you gain from saying stuff that's giving them no information, but only lessens their surprise in the future? If you truly want them to enjoy the series as much as possible, don't spoiler it for them, it's not that difficult

I get that everyone has different sensitivities when it comes to spoilers but you're acting like the two ladies watching are stupid.

This journey is one of a kind and spoilers really take the fun out of it. Many of us had the joy of finding out what's next in the story week by week for years, and we all know its been peak. So people please let them enjoy the journey and be more considerate before making spoiler comments. If you want to talk one piece, just engage the community, there's no need to tell people who's on Alabasta Arc that your favour character is....because he/she represents... Cmon guys.

This also hints that they will become important later on - Spoiling names, locations and other vocab that hasn't been mentioned yet - explaining something that they are curious about, which gets explained later on - saying something is important in the current story - saying something/someone isn't important, because they won't appear again - saying something/someone is important and should be kept in mind - Saying how long an arc is or how long it takes until something gets explained - Saying that something hasn't been explained yet, even in the current story and many more. Just try to only reference things that they already know. Don't outright explain something that hasn't been explained and don't hint at something, you're not as subtle as you think
