2024-05-31 21:13:48 +0000 UTCTo understand Floch you have to go back to season 3. Specifically examining his reasoning as to why he wanted to save Erwin rather then Armin. Also it would be reasonable to assume that at some point Eren and Floch had a meeting of the minds. Whether Floch approached Eren or Eren approached Floch is interesting to consider IMHO. And it is a astute observation Haley made about Jean and his tendency to cover his ears when he is put into a emotionally stressful situation. It is him trying to protect himself from reality in a sense and going off into fantasy land to decompress. The danger is him regressing and not wanting to leave that fantasy land.
