Ohh I didn't know about that, It's bad :'(.

Except that people that support Genocide don’t represent One Piece or Oda’s philosophy very well so hopefully this won’t happen πŸ™ƒ think about Skypia? Jamie Lee Curtis is posting supporting Enel and his supporters pretty much πŸ₯²

Melissa Ulate Garcia

I saw that Jamie Lee Curtis wants to play Dr. Kureha in the live action, can you imagine how perfect it would be. And the showrunner are totally into it, I'm excited haha

Leonardo Mello Vina

Chopper hiding himself behind the wall, but in a opposite way (showing all the body) is the funniest thing kkkk

Leonardo Mello Vina

Guys I would say it’s better to upload your uncut reaction before the edited one maby you can upload 5 or 8 episodes in a weak me and every one are excited to watch 8 episodes in a weak and i think it not will take from u hard work

Soak Jsjd

We all knew that the both of you would take an immediate liking to Chopper... and we were also prepared for the hurt that his/Hiriluk's backstory would inflict - even then, it still gets me teary eyed. It's so sad and you just want to put him back together with a big hug.

J.D.

I love the doctor, the fact that he would blow himself up so Chopper's poison mushroom wouldn't kill him gets me every time. This is one of my favorite back stories in One Piece.

Fold

The moment i saw you two tear up over the blue-nose i was like "they wont survive the next couple of episodes" lmao

HotShame

4 years ago I started to rewatch One Piece before I caught up. Last year, I started to rewatch again, just because I love this show so much. I ended it in Alabasta, because of you guys, now I continue the rewatch with you. Everytime I rewatched, I skipped this island. Just watched it once as a kid on TV. I couldn't remember much, just that I didn't find it that interesting at the time and since I had 1000+ episodes ahead of me, I wanted to skip as much unnecessary stuff as I could. Now I sit here, tears in my eyes... All strawhats are just blessed, good-hearted people and OP is a masterpiece that it can jump so easily between fun and sorrow. Can't wait for the rest of the ride. Damn weekend lol

Emil Time

I think because it is not allowed, they don't have the rights to show the full episode. Maybe other reactors don't care or try as long as they could. This way is the safest to not get sued.

Emil Time

oh yeah one piece masterclass is always the backstorys it just never fails to deliver

Gerald

Out of curiosity, why are these all edited and blurred when every other op reactor just does full uncut with no edits? Thanks! Love your reactions regardless

Ian

β€œI don’t think I’ll ever get over how cute he is” oh he gets cuter πŸ˜…

RAMbot

You will never die Oda Sensei!

Ikado

A little late to this, but my goodness it's been a while since I've cried like that. Another great reaction!

Nick

U guys pointed out that Chopper is a combination of everyone’s scar from their backstory. Which makes his scar so much more. He’s a doctor but one that needs healing.

Regie Khemvisay

A few fun facts in case no one else has pointed them out yet. Obviously Hiriluk explains that he named him Chopper because he can chop trees with his antlers, but the Tony Tony comes from the Japanese name for reindeer: tonakai. Also, the woman who voices Chopper, Ikue Otani, is the same woman who does the voice of Pikachu! Which explains why his voice is the cutest, most sweetest thing on the planet. The way he says "And I have a blue nose" is just so small and so sad, and it makes me want to hug him every time.

HeartlandHunny

I love how Hiriluk doesn't know what he's doing, but he has good intentions, while Kureha is an expert but greedy as sin. Then you have Chopper, who has Kureha's know-how and Hiriluk's heart. He's just the most precious little guy.

HeartlandHunny

A lot of people think Chopper isnt cool enough but once again i just love how much you guys appreciate series. Getting your Patreon was definatly a good choice. Im gonna be here for the all the good moments

DarquanJr

I absolutely adore the message of a beautiful sight or feeling curing people's hearts. So many good messages in these episodes, and Chopper is just the best. It's not something that anyone has to dive into, but there is some pretty good discussion that can be had from these episodes about health care/corruption IRL etc, especially in different places around the world. "There is no medicine that can cure fools" hit especially hard during the Covid era. Thanks for doing 3 episodes, this was awesome. I love rewatching these 3.

SomeoneElse

*Mr Burns from the Simpsons voice* Excellent. Looking forward to this lot 🀣🀣

I remember having read this about 20 years ago - it still makes me cry watching it. Hiriluk's quote followed all of us since then, yet my favourite part is still that in his final words he's thanking Chopper.

Sankai

And Sanji's child voice

Sankai

Chopper's VA is Ootani Ikue, the voice of Pikachu.

Pepperoni Pony .

As a big fan since a long time I spent many hours on videos about One Piece and reading things in the Wiki. Doing this kind of things almost guarantees that you get to know many fun facts and other information. It's nice to share them at some occasions and even nicer if that is appreciated, so thank you, too :)

MotU_Shosha

Chopper, Dr. Hiriluk, Doctorine, and Dalton 😭😭😭😭😭

Ilsuk Yang

Ok. Before watching the reaction: I'M SO DAMN EXCITEEEED! LET'S GO AND CRY TOGETHER πŸ₯³πŸ˜πŸ˜† I'm off now to watch it~

Mone

You should total listen to song: Chopper/Luffy - Dr. Tony Tony Chopper

ignorantWeed

I had never heard this, but it makes so much sense. Thank you for sharing.

Doctorine drinks plum wine, sometimes called umeshu. I believe Dr. Hiriluk was naked to show Chopper that he wasn't a threat. I like to think he wanted to show that he knew being a patient is a very vulnerable position that requires a lot of trust, and Hiriluk demonstrated that he was willing to reciprocate that vulnerability. I believe we can look at Doctorine and Hiriluk as parental figures for Chopper, and we can certainly contrast their approaches to medicine and compare to how that might translate to the lessons Chopper learns from them. Doctorine is a brilliant doctor, but tended to carry little actual care in her heart. To the point that she was exploiting patients to an extreme degree. She also focused on the health of the individual over collective health. Hiriluk, on the other hand, was a terrible doctor who cared deeply about his work and his patients. Even though he was a quack, he did believe that he was doing the right thing and was driven to do so. He also tended to focus more on the collective health of the nation more than individual health of patients. In Joseph Campbell's Hero's Journey, the meaning of love and the understanding of what is worth fighting for, is often taught by a feminine figure metaphorically called 'Earth Mother' (or 'Hag' in the negative case). The meaning of hatred or enmity and the understanding of what is worth fighting _against_ is often taught by a masculine figure metaphorically called 'Sky Father' (or 'Ogre' in the negative case). (This may not be completely correct, but I think it is close enough for this case.) I think it is interesting to see this inverted for Chopper's guardians. It is Hiriluk who teaches Chopper the meaning of love and the importance of keeping kindness in his heart and it is Doctorine who teaches Chopper about the evils of disease and that love must be tempered with ferocity. Both Doctorine and Hiriluk are flawed people, each of them missing an important piece of what it takes to be a truly great doctor, but they have given the best parts of themselves to Chopper. They are the giants whose shoulders Chopper stands on to reach heights beyond what either could have reached on their own. If Chopper ever finds himself without them, he need only look down to see what holds him so high.

😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Oda really doubled down on showing the moral importance of fighting for universal healthcare beyond all the politics and economic factors. At the end of the day it's all about the lives we do justice by. A system for the people, by the people. Lord knows how many folks there are like Wapol in real life, easily abusing a biased medical system by barely lifting a finger...

Sewer Lord

now you know how Oda can hurt the reader / watcher when he wants to; some backstories are rough

Ebo

To answer your question about Hiluluk's name, as far as I know the name 'Hiluluk' is based on the german word 'Chirurg' which sounds somewhat similar and it means surgeon. Or to be precise, the japanese transcription of the word 'Chirurg' sounds similar as 'Hiluluk'.

MotU_Shosha

This is one of the three saddest parts of whole One Piece. This story and these episodes are so incredible well written in my opinion. That kind of storytelling is why I love One Piece so much!

MotU_Shosha

ahh, no... backwards as in, he wasn't hidden behind the wall ;D

Ziggy Stardust

Mmm, love these triple ones.

Mellorine

yes!
