2024-02-15 09:55:47 +0000 UTCI am SOOO excited to watch this after work. What an insane climax for the season. Also if you two have time I hope you can check out Clannad. With as much as I love attack on titan (and I do very much) Clannad is still my favorite TV show of all time. It's a bit long at about 50 episodes but it has a beautiful story and it's gorgeous even if the anime is a little old it holds up VERY well. If you'd prefer a newer, shorter anime made by the same production company, Violet Evergarden is the single most stunning episodic anime I've ever seen. It's music, animation, world and characters are breathtaking and it's only 12 episodes with a movie finale.

Also the fun fact is about the smiling titan and also it's more than a decade for the release of s1 of AoT back then and sure I might have typed decades in a rush but also time dilation: even a decade in ANIME world of shows feels much longer because there's like a new show every year so it definitely feels more than that but point taken. Oh and Daniela I was responding to a bunch of post-video comments they already made. I didn't hint at anything new that they haven't said and written in their notebook yet, but I can change up something if you think it was accidentally hinting so feel free to DM me what it was so that you don't specify it here either. A lot of reactors seem to miss so much of this show and end up blindly hating them because "they're the villains and they betrayed the scouts." But it's clearly not that simple. Reiner is my favourite character in the show by far.

And based on what we've seen in Ymir's flashback and even the titan from ilse's notebook, and connie's mom-resembling titan, since you already said it yourself, so i'm not spoiling anything. it makes you wonder if that smiling titan was smiling when it "became" the smiling titan, or if it's just isayama's drawings to give each titan a distinct look similar to how some titans look like some celebrities like the actor from Better Call Soul and other actors. Who knows. But the shared common trait that you did call out before about ALL those pure titans or beta titans or basically "mindless dumb dumb" titans, which you've called out before, is that they seem to ignore all other creatures and animals EXCEPT humans right? And they seem to chase those humans almost like heroin addicts chasing a high, or in need of that "fix" of pure ecstasy as you saw on some titan's faces when they try to eat a human, or how ilse's titan (the talking worshipper one, looked like a crack addict trying so hard to resist that addiction but couldnt help but kill ilse and regret it immediately)... now we know this sofar, but to tie back to ymir's story line on how she got here, it makes you question: titan's been just wanting to chase humans and ignore all other titans and mostly ignoring other mindless titans other than just animalistic "resource guarding" or pushing like dogs... so if that's the case, it makes you wonder why is it that they they are mindless and instinct following of that high/addiction of humans, and yet they still come chasing after Eren, or Bert, or Annie (when she called them) or reiner or Ymir, etc... almost like those 5 are still observed by those mindless titans as something to chase for some reason. AND the way i always seen it at that time of watching, they kinda looked like how my sister's dog just locks on a toy scent or treat, and then even when i try to fake him out with an empty hand and a hand with a treat, or if i hide his treat under a bed cover, he's still honed in and locked on to that "treat" no matter what i hide it in, because his reward is one sniff and one bite away. And he'll tear the cover up if it means getting to that treat, regardless of the consequences, and is not thinking more down the line :) but my dog, who's more trained and certified, knows better than to just mindlessly chase after a treat, so he'll perform his obedience actions and he may not get that treat, but if he got it, it's still a treat. but he doesn't have that urge for it, he just does what he's been trained and conditioned to do since being a puppy.

But this episode here cemented for me how much I love his character. Rallies and leads the charge, badass, gets bitten by a titan and still commands his troops, badass, loses his arm but still comes back and frees Eren from Reiner and Bertholdt, badass. Can't wait for you to watch the finale and reach S3, your reactions are like drugs because I'm addicted and need more lol

It’s shades of grey and the grappling of moral ambiguity in order to understand one another! I wanted to say more (but no spoilers) because this show is truly a genius devised masterpiece, that deserves to be remembered for decades .
