"The Breaking Point"

Spiers is the leader we NEED! This one was a rollercoaster of emotions. So many wounded physically and emotionally. We're learning so much about what these men really went through. So much respect!! Full Length will be up shortly!

Thank you so much for all of your support here on Patreon! Until the next one!

"it can't be worse than the last one, right?" HMmmmmmmmmm.... >_> You know, the big problem with your reaction videos is that they're TOO GOOD and now I've watched them all in a single evening and now I gotta wait for new ones :( Records state that the temperatures during Battle of the Bulge were between -10 and -20Celsius / 10 and -5 Farenheit, one of the coldest winters in the area in a long while. "Another one of those arrogant rich jerks from Yale".. "Oh no, not another one of those.." is a funny exchange between Winters and Nixon, because Nix actually went to Yale for 2 years. Norman Dike was done a little dirty in this episode. Yes, he was often absent, and had never really bonded with the men. But the book from Ambrose is only based on the recollection of a few men, and apparently these men didn't care much at all for Dike. But, the man was no coward, prior to the events of this episode, he had won two bronze stars and a silver star, for rescuing some of his men from direct enemy fire. Also, it's suspected he got shot during the assault on Foy, but nobody could see he was bleeding so much, and he probably went into shock at some point and became unable to issue proper orders. The run by Spiers to link up with "i company" was even longer in reality than was depicted in the show. The leader of "i company" was mowed down by german machinegun fire only seconds after Spiers left him, but thankfully someone else had been nearby to hear those orders and was able to relay them. The shot by Shifty to take down the enemy sniper was about 65m/215ft long. When some men from Easy went to clear that building, they found the dead sniper with a bullet hole right between his eyes. The buildings are still standing in Foy. https://i.imgur.com/HBrwoVm.png (Shifty was where the blue rectangle is, the german sniper in the window outlined in red). The stories about Speirs were pretty much all true. He did shoot one of his own men, but in self defense. He had passed down some orders, the soldier, who was drunk, was refusing to obey them, there was some argument, the soldier raised his gun but Speirs shot him first. He reported the incident himself to his superior, but that superior was killed very shortly afterwards, and nothing else ever came from that incident. Besides, during war time, the high command was more inclined to look away from situations like these, because officers like Speirs who were fearless and never hesitated to engage the enemy were far too valuable to get rid of them.

Speaking of movies. On the foreign side of things I highly recommend My Way, and As Far As My Feet Will Carry Me.

adamisajoker .

Going to try and work movies in very soon! We'll note this one down 😊

Speirs' run through the German lines was even longer in real life, but the showmakers thought the audience wouldn't believe it so they shortened it. The guy was an absolute unit, like an actual terminator. Remember when he took out one of the AA guns basically solo in episode 2, just running outside the trenches? Mad lad

I was wondering when y’all would do movies? Society of the snow is really good and I really recommend it but just letting y’all know it’ll make you cry

Kimberly

two vids in one day thank you so much :D

Kevin Martin Kovács

Yeah this episode is seriously heavy, but it has enormous significance in understanding the incredible bond between the men of Easy Company. Thank you both so much for watching this series!
