Yeaaaah about that..... >_> Haylo got it right, the officer is color blind, and yes, you normally wouldn't have been able to enlist if that was the case, but some managed to slip in, sometimes cheating on tests and such. I just love how big and empathic your hearts are. I can feel so much respect and admiration in every tear you shed. Just want to give you both a big hug!

2024-01-20 10:01:44 +0000 UTCat 10:29 they are folding over their collars cause apparently snipers were looking out for high ranking officiers to target. so they've hidden their rank insignias. Also the old men waving the flag at 10:35 is an actual soldier, remember his face for the intro clips in later episodes. The little kid getting chocolate for the first time, the same thing happened to my grandmother when the US GI's liberated Luxembourg.

Just a few notes: it is difficult to pick out the different soldiers....but the one who gave the kid chocolate is Webster. You will see more with him in the upcoming episodes. Spiers is the one who is rumored to have shot the POW's, Cobb is the one who talks to Miller about the unit designation on his uniform. If you are interested there was movie that was released in 1977 called "A Bridge To Far" that shows the battle in Holland from both the German and Allies perspective. The Intel that they had at the time was that the area was defended by, as they said old men and boys, but what the Allies didn't know is that the Germans moved front line SS troops into the area to rest before facing the Allied advance which had slowed due to supply issues.
