"Carentan"

We are really enjoying this show despite the tears. It's a bit hard to watch sometimes but it's just amazingly done. These men are heroes!

Thanks so much for all of your support here on Patreon. Until the next one!

To explain your confusion at 7:30. They almost threw a grenade into the house, and would have likely killed that whole family hiding from the combat. Key word: *almost*

I'm so glad I was able to come back to patreon now and get ahead as well as support you two. Honestly, probably the best reactions about. I'm so glad that you are doing both important hard hitting shows and more fun stuff as well. Keep it up

"actuooolly, did'ya know Viggo actually broke his toe when he kicked dat helmet?" ... It's a must comment for sure heheh. Hopefully they will react to LotR some day too!

RawrSaur

For a moment there I though no one had said it yet. It's like the helmet in Two Towers. It is a crucial fact.

I really appreciated your comment in Ep2 about how one needed to see all of this as just a game.. when Lt Welsh says exactly the same one episode later. It really shows how insightful you two are. And no, Luz didn't shoot the family, it was just some weird noise on the change of scene. The soldier who got blown up in the store, Tipper (the one who gave the map, and was laughing at Sobel in Ep1 when Luz was mimicking Major Horton) actually survived and had a long life, passing in 2017. Since he's obviously not shown in the rest of the show, he's the gentleman at the beginning of the episodes 2 and 3 with the salmon-red shirt and the big glasses. At the beginning of Ep3, he says "one of two things, a quick death or going through the war without a scratch" and, clearly, neither of these things happened. And, yes, the intros become more and more emotional because they use bits from the show, and seeing it in the intro makes you remember what happened in these scenes.

With regards to Speirs allegedly executing the prisoners, the allies had orders to take no prisoners on D-day, if I'm not mistaken. That's because in all the chaos, it would have been nigh impossible to set up POW camps with enough food, housing and security so they wouldn't just escape and re-join the enemy fighting force.

For what it is worth Blithe did survive and I think he served in the vietnam war. The show got that one bit wrong.

RawrSaur

To play that music in a world war 2 museum is cruel

Isac christensen

that is what i meant the other comment makes absolutely no sense

One other comment after re-watching the short version, I don't think I've seen it commented yet anywhere else, but the interviews at the beginning are all vets of Easy Company. Their identities will be revealed at the end of episode 10, so no spoilers. The interviews come from what some call episode 11, We Stand Alone Together.....it is available on YouTube. Well worth the watch when you are done with the series.

What an intense episode! Good job for hanging in there guys! I've been binging all of your content lol and you guys are becoming my favorite! I'm subscribed to like 8 other reactors but your guys dynamic, genuine reactions, attentiveness, and intellect is awesome!

Alex Ocean

the guy who got ran over by a tank wasn't cgi, from what I read over the years, it was a stunt guy who got pushed into a "coffin" that got laid into the ground on the tank tracks and as he got rolled over it pushed him into the coffin

So just a few things.....Albert Blythe actually did survive his wounds, lived through the rest of WW 2 and served in Korea as well. The soldier that suffered the bayonet wound was wearing a German poncho. It is easy to miss but early on in the episode when they are all gathering before the attack on Carentan they are showing off what "souvenirs" they have gotten and he shows off the poncho. So when he went back to the foxhole the soldier who he was waking up thought he was a German. They ended up not going back to France at this point. They were supposed to make another jump, but the Allies broke out of the Normandy area and their jump location was taken. This leads up to the next episode.....

Sorry was trying to lift the mood after the harsh episode

Isac christensen

I hope you do not get numb after this show. So when you watch Attack on titan you scoff at the violence there. :D

Isac christensen

This episode has a weird mistake at the end. Blithe did not die from his wound in 1948... He even served again in Korea
