Alexander 'Sawney' Bean is a historical figure from my country, Scotland. His clan/family were cannibals. You can still take a tour in Edinburgh that discusses this history, and it's quite scary.

Yes it's a military thing that people call superiors Sir not Mam in many parts of the world, but it just happens that according to Attack On Titan books, Hange technically identifies as non-binary. Take that however you will, like I said it doesnt affect the plot afaik, but yeah. Also you probably want to be sure to watch Ilse's Notebook OVA before Season 2. In case you weren't told yet. Especially before Season 2 episode 2, because there's some callback names and reactions that you wouldnt get if you didnt already watch that order. IT IS canon to the story. At least particularly this OVA and Levi's No Regrets one (which is probably my favorite OVA)
