Oda (the creator of One Piece) is a master of crafting characters' trauma and tying that trauma into the story in both painful and beautiful ways. The best parts of One Piece (to me at least) are when he sets up scenarios like this where everything a character is and everything that has hurt them will be brought to the surface by a villain, or by the circumstances of the story, or by whatever other means. Most people I've seen get into One Piece find Nami's story to be the big hook that gets them, and I think most would also agree it just gets better from there. One of my faves is a certain character who'll show up in season 2 of the live action.

One Piece is the embodiment of “don’t judge a book by its cover” when you hear a story about a rubber boy pirate its sound so childish and lame. But the story, characters, and world building is so good that you couldn’t stop watching. It’s not just your typical fairy tales, happy ending kind of stories, it tackles a lot of world issues like racism, discrimination, corruptions, genocide, politics.

Also you say "Along is the worst possible villain you could ever imagine". Yeah you ain't seen nothing yet, he doesn't even crack the top 5 most hateable villains in one piece.

When i started the anime years ago, i was already a fan. But when i saw this moment in the anime, i thought i'm gonna ride the One piece train all the way. Great reaction!

2023-12-01 14:19:59 +0000 UTCWoweeee. More than 1000 eps of the OP Anime is what I am always worried about and can't start it. I think you would want to finish The Death Note Anime first. Its a finite 35 or 37 episodes series and is in top ranked anime. The Boys series, IMO, is something to watch only in person. Gory stuff aside, it has lots of weird sexual sort of stuffs which I would not watch with any of my family members.
