The author of One Piece draws inspiration from some very unexpected places and historical events around the world, but he's also just kinda crazy and does quirky things sometimes so you never really know what is a gag and what is going to become a major plot point hundreds of chapters later 😄 Thanks for the reactions!

Also you should check out "The breathtaking world of one piece" by Strawhat V on YouTube. It's spoiler free but gives you a good sense of how huge the world is. Happy Friday!
