In my opinion the second half of the show is much better in terms of quality, so if you liked the first half, prepare to love the second! Some details the live action version skipped over (don't read if you don't want manga details). Kuina unfortunately is dead, they showed her body in the original source. A notable quirk of her's was that she was extraordinarily clumsy, so she actually fell down the stairs. Some say it's a euphemism for suicide; it's not, that's a fan theory only. Her death is intended to showcase the fragility of life and how easily dreams can be ripped away. And the teacher/sensei is actually her father, the live action didn't mention that.
