Y'all got the wrong idea. Back in those times specifically in the eastern cultures, spanking a child was seen as a form of punishment, nothing sexual or weird.

2023-09-07 06:39:28 +0000 UTCquick side note, in old Japanese culture, spanking a child on the bottom was a form of punishment. he said" but don't you dare defy me" before slapping Aoi, perhaps he's saying if you don't obey me then you'll be punished, i.e. spanked on the butt. Just my take on the scene.

2023-09-07 00:27:52 +0000 UTCHagnezuka is the best comic relief ever. such a smart decision having him get mad at Tanjiro directly after all the depressing stuff you watched with the Rengoku family. it creates a relieving "feel-good" moment. one thing i think is really cool about Rengoku's death scene, is that there's a line that i think should stick with people more often: "don't feel bad that i'm going to die here." i think by having that outlook of even though someone dies, it doesn't mean you can just give up on yourself or stop, it really helps you understand the viewpoint of the Hashira (especially in later scenes). remember, they all loved him, and they were all told of his death. and yet Tengen isn't letting it stop him, regardless of how strong Rengoku was. in real life, if you were told one of your people died facing off against an enemy that only YOU were capable of fighting, i think it'd make almost anyone hesitate. because it creates the new possibility of death think it speaks a lot to their characters (not even just the Hashira) that they're willing to continue
