“What do you mean my powers are evolving?” A young man said in his mind.

He was dressed in a black suit and he was walking hurriedly inside Roxy’s place, the woman was by his side but there was still time for him and Lucian to continue with the conversation from yesterday, they needed to hurry because today was the first hearing, thanks to her connections, the older woman managed for that to happen as fast as possible.

“Well…I guess that’s my fault, you see…Giving you an average power would’ve been so boring and if I gave you that power wasn't only because I like you and I was grateful due to the evil water you gave me but I also did it because I’m bored Andy…And you seemed something interesting I wanted to see how your life would be with a power like that,” the older man couldn’t help but chuckle.

“Well, that’s an interesting revelation but I don’t see the correlation between that and the evolution of my powers,” Andy was a little confused.

“It is completely correlated my friend because the power I gave you has a different thing I’m testing with you…You know how A.I. works, right?” Asked the older man with a curious tone.

Andy couldn’t help but feel shocked to know that Lucian knew about that stuff, he thought someone so ancient wouldn’t be interested in that kind of human tech thing, but considering he was quite good with the tablet he controlled from afar, then, Andy guessed he shouldn’t be too surprised.

“More or less…It’s like a program that uses prompts and it gets better the more it keeps being introduced more data and it learns from it, right?” That’s the only definition Andy could come up with, he wasn’t too fan of the current wave of A.I. technology in art, so, this was his idea about it.

“Yeah yeah, something like that, well, the power I gave you has been modified to change over time which will grant you more abilities, now, the fun thing here is knowing which kind of abilities you’ll be able to get and what you can do with them, you may get in trouble or you may become very successful, that’s where the fun comes,” the older man couldn’t help but chuckle as he explained this.

Andy didn’t know how to feel about it, it was risky, he could get something strange in exchange or something interesting or maybe something awful, this blind box power game was scary yet interesting.

“Don’t worry about it, if you feel like it could be too much for you I can deactivate it but as you know, you’re getting more and more viral, right? I’ve seen the videos, you don’t say it but the tone and the way you look at the camera, you are telling the female viewers to become your fans, If I were a woman I would’ve become a fan of you in an instant,” the older man was quite aware of what he did with those videos.

So, even if he was a little worried about what other abilities he could get, it seemed like the benefits of having them were better than the consequences, so, he decided to forget about deactivating his powers for now, he just needed some answers that’s it.

“Lucian…Can you do me a favor?” Andy asked and the older man thought he was going to ask him to deactivate his powers. “Can you give me some kind of mental interface for my powers? I want to see in full detail what they do,” Andy asked and the older man couldn’t help but smirk.

This was getting interesting, it seemed like the younger man didn’t care about the roulette of powers, well, that’s what life is all about, is full of blind opportunities and uncertainty.

“Yes,” the older man didn’t waste time, and soon, Andy’s eyes widened.

Now a user interface appeared in front of him, it was like a holographic projection from one of those isekai anime, however, he quickly calmed down when he realized he was the only one seeing that interface, as he was inside a car with Roxy and a taxi driver and they seemed calm, the older woman was actually smiling at him.

The user interface had a name, it was like a program: “Lucian’s Power Roulette ver. 1.1.1”

the user interface had the powers acquired and he was surprised to find more than he thought there could, but some of them were just abilities he had been using since he was a kid like the <<pretending ability>>.

There were also the user interface settings, the descriptions of the abilities, and to what extent he could use them, he’ll have to take a good read of them, and it seems like he now had his abilities in complete control, he didn’t have to rely on the powers acting on their own anymore.

“It’s incredible, thank you so much Lucian, this will surely help me with my journey,” to say that Andy was happy would be the understatement of the century.

“Don’t worry about it man, you can ask me for anything as long as you don’t ask for ridiculous things, after all, you’ve given me incredible entertainment, I love your content, so, keep going!” the man suddenly stopped the call and there was a good reason for him to do that.

They arrived at the place where they had to be, so, he gave an order to his mind and he made the user interface disappear as he was being held by Roxy.

“We arrived Andy, as you can see, the press was waiting for the Matthews family and they are waiting for us too, so, take a few moments to calm down,” the older woman wasn’t suggesting she was ordering him so, he quickly did as she told him.

The younger man mentalized himself of what was about to come, he needed to keep his emotions in check if he wanted to succeed in this case but also, he needed to act as cool as possible for the audience, he was going to farm this as much as he could.

“Are you ready?” Roxy finally asked and he took a long breath and nodded and soon, she opened the door and thanked the driver.

Just as soon as the car got away, they were surrounded by a swarm of reporters are they moved around and made their way towards the entrance of the court. Andy was a little overwhelmed and worried about this, there were too many reporters, and he was starting to get nervous.

However, he suddenly took a look at the Matthews family on the other side of the lane, the mother, the father, and the daughter were nervous as fuck, it seems like just like Roxy told him, this took them by surprise, he was surprised to see a new woman standing beside them, she had short hair and she was hugging Stacy. He quickly shook his head off, seeing the family in such desperation made him feel happier and confident about himself.

The younger man stood proudly and remained calm as he heard the many questions from the reporters, he was completely unbothered right now, and soon, he managed to shock everyone when he smiled at them, but the most shocked ones were the female reporters who couldn’t help but blush now that he had a change of attitude.

“Good morning everyone, don’t worry about it, I’ll try to answer as many of your questions as I can,” Andy said with a smile on his face.

“Skill updating: Loading…Done, your pretending skill has been updated!” a message appeared on Andy’s face as he answered the questions without much care in the world.

Yes, this was a difficult moment, but this was his moment, he was in the spotlight, and he was receiving something more addictive than any drug…Attention and he was loving every second of it.
