Honestly, no clue. But there is a thought, so hear me out. So everyone's saying that he'll be Cobalt Blue, especially since there were the added blue effects in his scenes. Now sure that's cool and all, and it'd be awesome to see that character in this show, but you know who else is cool, and awesome, and contains a trace element of.. blue? That's right. BEEBO! I have spoken.

2023-05-09 11:23:18 +0000 UTCI think he’s from another earth as a fresh remix on the Cobalt Blue, which is why he doesn’t know the name Eddie Thawne and was in what we know as the “West house”, because in his world it’s not the West house. I’m not sure why what I’m assuming was the negative speed force or someone manipulating it sent that file from our world to try to provoke something, but I don’t think he’s our Eddie that didn’t die or lost memories or anything like that because that would completely undo the results of S1 Thawne being “wiped” and opening the singularity. He has to be fully dead for that to happen. Maybe they want him to take on that purpose and identity for himself even though that wasn’t him.

So we saw that after Crisis some of the characters like Quentin Lance and Tommy Merlyn being brought back to life and Emiko Queen, who was also brought back to life, seemly have a different life. The other we saw that a lot of characters not remembering the Crisis event and things that happen before it until J'onn J'onzz open/unlocked their memory. So what if the Negative-Speed Force is using the file as a way to unlock "Eddie" memory of his other life. But unlike the others, this is something that he will have to figured out.

So either this Eddie "Malcom" created the crystal, or the Negative Speedforce create everything? Like my theory is it's creating the perfect avatar. Using Eddie, Joe's house, the lightning. The perfect negative half to Barry.

2023-05-05 00:05:23 +0000 UTCSo let me preface this by saying I have seen no promos or trailers and know nothing of what’s to come but from my knowledge of DC comics I think he could be ‘Malcolm Thawne’ who is Barry’s Twin in the comics. I think this because on the badge it says his first name is ‘Malcolm’ AND he is Cobalt Blue in some stories. Now the big counter to this theory is that he didn’t seem to recognise the name Thawne (which is kinda a big hole) but still… just the first thing that came to mind.

I think he will become cobalt blue who is Barry’s twin brother in the comics, because the crystal in the episode is the same as the one we saw in season 8, in Avery’s lab when Bart and Nora travelled back to 2013.
