If they bring him back it will be as a dark trooper

He's probably dead. I hope he's in badass heaven with Champa from The Expanse.

Yes and No. Yes he died and No they will bring him back as a test clone (exact replica of Tech).

I think he's dead. The goggles could've come off and thus been found away from (what was left of) the body. At the very least, that's more believable to me than Tech surviving. It's also likely that the gondola landed on him, which apart from making him extra dead would be a scaled-up version of the crate that broke his femur in the premiere. This being a self-sacrifice from Tech is also important; it's what we've seen from Heavy, Kanan, and Commander Sato, and none of them came back. If Tech turns out to be alive, he'll have to be significantly different, but I'd prefer his sacrifice to keep the level of impact it has now.

As much as I don't want him to be dead, I don't think this series has room for fake out deaths, and it would diminish his sacrifice. The only way I could see him coming back that wouldn't be narratively unsatisfying, would be if he comes back as something that's no longer himself and the Bad Batch has to fight him/put him down. And that's even more upsetting than him just being dead so I don't want that.

Hope: That he is alive and being held captive by Hemlock. Realization: That he sacrificed himself to save his squad and is indeed dead. Emotion: Why, dammit? Why?!?!

I believe that Saw Guerra went back after the heat died and found him unconscious and took him with him to heal.

I hope he is gone so it doesnt undermine his sacrifice. It would be fine if Hemlock revived him somehow, but not him surviving that fall.

I think he is dead, but maybe Hemlock will use his body for more cloning or even hook him up to something like what happened to Echo

Yes and Hemlock is experimenting on extracting his intelligence from his corpse.

There's enough ambiguity that I won't be *surprised* if they bring him back, but I do think he's dead.

Mesa Back!!!

I sort of want them to stick with him being gone, but my gut is telling me they've intentionally left room for him come back.

Anime rules, never rule out death till you see the body, even then.

When it said Rex was off on another mission, I stupidly said "oh they must not have been able to get his voice actor for this episode" .... I have my moments lol

I haven’t felt a characters death this bad since Kanan. I don’t know how, but maybe Dave will take pity on us this time and give Tech back.

Alyson_1derland

Tech is being cloned again with this new system of Clone science.

Jocan2

Not only did he fall from such a height. The train landed on him. He's gone.

Spoonacus

I think he is gone, but not dead. I think the bad batch will face him after rescuing Omega and Crosshair

Bert In A Bin

I hope not but I don’t see them all making it to the end of the series

Prince of Za Waurdo Over Salmon

I find it odd that Hemlock was able to recover the Goggles but not the armor that the goggles were attached to. It's not like he got vaporized. I have a feeling he was taken and brainwashed like Crosshair is now.

Brandon Dodge

I believe he is gone sadly

Logan_w726

It was a worthy sacrifice and a good show would stick with it. But in Star Wars no one is ever truly gone.

No Body, No Death!

Lukas

It wouldn't shock me if he was alive but I wouldn't be happy about it. Don't get me wrong, I love Tech, I just hate when shows do such a dramatic and sad death just for it to be a fake out. It's an overdone trope.

Bretton B

I think we've seen the last of Tech. It was a fitting sacrifice to a great character. We've seen him struggle to display his emotions over the course of the show and with him being the driving force behind this mission to save Crosshair, it was a final show of love and sacrifice for his family. I think it would cheapen the episode and the season if all that development was shown just for him to survive in an unbelievable way. Even plot armour cant save you from a fall that high, He earned his death!

Omg-I kept thinking they all were all goners during the show lol. I really hope he isn’t dead; he and all the Bad Batch deserve a happy ending, but after Hunter, Wrecker, and Omega together decided to settle down, I can’t see their end being good at all. They’re going to end up trapped to lives of soldiering until each one dies. Omega is really the only one I see coming out ok at the end of next season, if there is one (because isn’t she mentioned elsewhere in a novel or something?)
