I wanted the show to continue, not for Dex to be killed. I thought this was going to be a fresh start, not another ending for the show. It was an enjoyable season though.

This series exists because people complained about the original ending, which was good if you paid attention to what happened on the series. Instead of that ending, we got this where Harrison is whiny and obnoxious and Dexter gets caught and killed. Who wanted to see a show where Dexter doesn't get away in the end? I didn't. Really didn't like this whole series.

No, and this episode just makes me hate Harrison more. Then you have Dexter who goes completely out of character and kills a cop when he knows all the evidence is circumstantial on him killing Matt, and the evidence against him for being the BHB is even worse. Like wtf, when Doakes had him dead to rights, Dexter refused to kill him cause he didn't fit the code but with Logan and this circumstantial evidence he'll kill him? Makes no fucking sense. Plus I also liked the original season 8 ending of Dexter unlike most people so this new conclusion to his character just completely bums me out.

wanted to like it but it felt so forced. They had no hard evidence on Dexter killing Matt, let alone that he was the BHB. One drug dealer died with ketamine in his system but there was nothing tying Dexter to the crime scene. Also, the guy wasn't dismembered which was the butcher's whole MO. And Dexter even said it himself, the guy at the bar had no drugs in his system and simply claimed Dexter poked him with a needle. It made no sense for him to kill a cop and run off because a lawyer would have gotten him off easily

I am satisfied with this mini series over all of Season 8... but still felt a little bummed on how it ended. The writing was "good not great" majority of the time but this finale was rushed pacing especially the last like 20 mins, they had too much story to fit in a short timeframe. DEXTER as the show deserved a GREAT ending to this character and didn't get that both times but I'll say there was a better 'conclusion' this time around

The ending was perplexing for me because I felt the same way as you yet the last couple minutes were really well done, imo. The ending for me was bad and good.

They also wasted batista he said about doubts on the butcher but never mentioned for the entire rest of the original show as it was season 2 and immediately believed that dexter must have killed laguerta eventhough it was a gunshot not the usual butcher MO he forgot that he and dex were in his eyes best buds since he spoke as if he barely knew him there’s so much wrong with everything they did like did they just forget that billionaire plotline???

The finale was garbage they completely ruined angelas character with her just giving up on kurt the first time she’s told no if she was really obsessed with those girls she’d have done an off the books investigation like she did on dexter who she turned on because of an odd comment and they completely rushed everything they needed atleast 2 more episodes and I would expect harrison to kill per the code instead he just turned on dexter there was no buildup or show of conflict from him he just did it

Too rushed. They wanted us to suddenly hate Dexter after pulling for him for 9 years? In 30 seconds? And Harrison suddenly HATES Dexter, turning on a dime? After probably reading that letter a hundred times? Or did he know exactly what Dexter was and come to Iron Lake just to kill him. Didn't say goodbye to him, or forgive me for doing this, or even go to him after he died. He walked over to see if he's dead, that's it. What bond? I hated it.

It wasn’t perfect, and I certainly would have liked just a little bit more, but overall I’m satisfied. My biggest issue with the original ending was that he was never publicly outed as the BHB. It felt like that should have been a necessary part of how his story ends, so I’m happy to at least have gotten that this time around. If I could have had one more thing, I would have liked to see Angel and Dexter reunite. Or at the very least I would have liked a wrap up scene with Angel and Angela after Dexter had died. At the end of season 8 I didn’t feel like Angel had any suspicions about Dexter, but during this season I got the impression something must have changed his mind over the past ten years. Would have loved to hear his side of things.

Im good with what happened but I too feel like yhe last 15 min happened wayyyy too fast and it couldve used at least one more episode to build Harrison's decision a bit more. Also sad angel and dexter didny get to meet. Not at all surprised this is how it ended however as they did say "clear ending for dexter" and I do think this still leaves an option for a show about Harrison which they may do if they all agree to it which--i mean. I would be tuning in if so. Ngl tho a bit rushed or not i still started crying at the end because this season made me want dexter to escape while the original so made me want him captured.

I was satisfied but another episode was probably needed. It felt like teasing Angel Batista and not having a confrontation with Dexter was the biggest missed opportunity. David Zayas is a damn good actor and it's a shame we didn't get to see him interact with Michael C Hall at all.

I mean as much as you love dexter the final episode really shows how much of an actual serial killer he is, he might have the code but he ultimately ends up crossing the lines of it whenever he feels its necessary mo matter how evil the act is.

It wasn’t amazing but anything better than whatever the hell the last one was. 😂

I like it way more than season 8 finale. Also it looks like Logan was secretly the reason this season was good, because when he died so did the writing.

Yes, but i felt it could have used either another episode or just to make the last episode maybe half an hour longer. I get what they were trying to do and it is LOADS better than what we got before, but it could have been executed a lot better.
