The Mandalorian 2x1 - Poll!

What role do you think Boba Fett will play in The Mandalorian Season 2?

Boba Fett is a bounty hunter which by definition would mean he is neutral until he is paid to not be. The question then is who hires him first Gideon or the Mandalorian. In my opinion it would make more sense for Gideon to hire him than it would for Mando given Fett's dealings with the Empire and Vader. Fett was even hired by Vader to find more information about Kenobi and Luke Skywalker in the new Canon. Which would mean that Fett knows the location of Kenobi's home on Tatooine. Either way I'm just glad to see Temuera Morrison back in Star Wars. Also wouldn't it be funny if this was all a misdirect and Temuera Morrison is actually just playing an old Clone Trooper

I don't think it'll be the same exact scenario as what we just had with Cobb, where he started out as a potential adversary, then quickly became an ally. I think he'll be a neutral force at best, and an antagonist at worst. I don't think it'll be something easy to predict though, the show has played things smart thus far, it's unlikely for them to stop now. Also, fun fact for those who have watched Deadwood, but the Weequay bar owner was played by W. Earl Brown, or as I know him from, Bill in The Last Of Us.

FaultyHammock

He's not mandalorian. That's the key in this question. So why would he have any motive to aid or help Mando? UNLESS he commits to the cause and joins the mandalorian creed!

I say Ally. He's going to see Din wearing his Mandalorian armor and protecting this innocent force-sensitive baby, and it will make him think of his father. I honestly don't think he cares about the armor or the jedi at this point. Boba will want to help reconnect Baby Yoda with his real parents and/or help Din (Mando) take care of him because he knows how devastating the loss of a father can be

I think he'll be an enemy and the darksaber may have a big part in their fight. Could Boba Fett become Mandalore and declare Din Djarin an enemy?

My5head

I feel like he'll fight with mandalorian at first then eventually team up to fight a common enemy they both share.

Netherdragon

I think he will eventually be an ally after Din Djarin appeals to his better nature. He will be an enemy at the start once he learns that they have a force wielding creature since he has a bad experience with force wielders especially when Mace Windu killed his dad, Luke Skywalker made him fall into the Sarlac pit and other stuff during his youth.

Barry

Usually I would say, you dont bring back someone like Temuera Morrison to reprise a role you teased in season 1 then again in Season 2 for 4 seconds... if you arnt setting something up... having said that... this is John Favreux and Dave Filloni we're talking about, I feel like they would.

Lando

the genius of the whole show. as someone who grew up going to Saturday morning matinees in the 70s, this is EXACTLY that type of show. simple plot, simple (often tropey/familiar) dialogue & simple characters that have the large added bonus of existing in a world we love already. not only does it fill out the world but it sucks us all into it. it's also simultaneously VERY niche but so widely-appealing that it's the least divisive SW content in decades & loved worldwide, already. based on the shows that SW itself was based on & that Lucas himself (& Spielberg for that matter) set out to recreate. F&F remember those shows (Rawhide, Shane, Bonanza, Kung Fu, Flash Gordon, Zorro & many many more) & are lovingly crafting a paean to them all. BRAVO F&F, BRAVO!!

Paul Murphy

I'm still baffled at how well done these episodes are, such a simple concept for an episode an yet it was executed fantastically. Boba clearly wants to be left alone, if wanted to be found he would have been found by now I think.

Honest Jay

He just living his life and doesn't want anymore of the BS of the New Republic and Jedi

Collecter343

Baby Yoda is our kryptonite so its very possible that he wont care about the child but in an adventure he will try and help or like Carl Weathers have a change of heart

Skeletor

He Wont Care About Anything Mando is doing just want his Fathers Armor Back. But Then again It seems like he could have gotten it from Cobb so maybe Mando saved Cobbs life and never even know it

Skeletor

It's gotta be the classic versus movie trope. They fight for a bit and then they're friends. King kong vs godzilla style.

C-Dubble

Ally. I’m gonna guess that, sure, he doesn’t like the Child, but that he actually has a major problem with Moff Gideon. Mando gives him his armor back just in time to team up against the big bad. And there’s probably a 98% chance that I’m entirely wrong.

Jordan Malloy

Part of me really wants him to just be a glorified cameo tbh. It would amuse me to no end after all this hype. The other part of me wants Temuera Morrison to keep getting that Disney money, so hopefully he's an ally that'll recur (sparsely) throughout the later seasons.

Alice

He'll do his job well I'm sure. I think he'll start out as an enemy, but eventually align himself with Mando. Maybe he'll trade information for his armor back. I think he could point Mando toward Kamino and the doctor from season 1.

He's just the son of a man who tried to make his way in the universe.

Liesmith

I think Boba has his own motivations and his own mission and he’ll be neutral to the Mando but if the Mandos in his way he’ll get him out of the way and if he helps him he’ll take his help

Christian Bolda

I think Boba Fett just wants to live and settle on Tatooine and maybe he has given up fighting (much like Obi-Wan). Also, will you be going to straight into rebels now that you've finished clone wars or will you put Rebels on hold until that the Clone Wars catches up with Early Access?

This episode was amazing. This was my favorite story for an episode since sanctuary episode 4 of season 1. I want baby yoda to try and wear the other Mandolorian helmet that Mando got. I liked seeing the tusken raiders again. Can't wait for next episode next Friday. If that was boba fett at the end I hope he helps Mando. Seeing his Mandolorian armor again was amazing.

Chase Gardner

Bro's way too old to be an enemy.... right? Right?.... Oh God he's gonna kick Mando's ass isn't he.

Username

I think Boba will be a little confrontational at the start but will eventually end up helping in some way. Maybe just with knowledge. I mean the Mandalorian couldn't stumble across a better person in the galaxy with the history that Boba has in order to progress his quest.

Glynn Rockwell

Although I believe Boba will eventually become an ally to Mando I think there will be animosity between them for a couple of reasons. Boba probably won't like that Mando has his armor. Boba will also probably not like the child (because he hates Jedi). However I could easily see the two of them reconciling their differences and becoming allies.

Not about Boba but just about 2x1 as a whole: delving deeper into the world of the Tusken Raiders/Sand People really made me think about something. In the Kenobi series, wouldn't it be amazing if Obi-Wan found out about the Tusken Massacre? Because I'm pretty sure he has no idea about that, and to find out that your Padawan became a mass murderer while he was still your Padawan... Lots of story potential there, I think! And it'd be made all the more horrible because of the fact that finally the Tusken Raiders/Sand People are being shown as what they are: their own people, a civilization.

He will start as an ally but the moment he gets his dads Armor back he will back stab mando they will not pass on him and bobs fighting in the finale

Prince of Za Waurdo Over Salmon

I genuinely have no speculation as to where Boba’s mental state will be, but I’ll be Damned I wanna see a Boba redemption story where he becomes a true Mandalorian!

lewis is your patron

I’m nowhere near as much of a Star Wars nerd as all of you are but seeing how excited you guys get watching this makes my day

Jordan Rice

I think he's going to be neutral, and I hope we get to see a flashback sequence right after falling into the Sarlaac and his journey right until now.

Morgan Allen

I would say neutral because he doesn't work for the empire anymore so he wouldn't have any reason to attack mando, and i assume he just wants his father's armour back

Glark

An enemy because he never really got much to do in the original movies so would be cool to let he go wild And see what he can do as a bad guy. Plus I feel a mando v mando fight would be amazing.

Absolute wild speculation here but what if Mando dies and passes his armour over to boba, who has a new lease on life over his near death. Baby Yoda can represent bobas new purpose in life to look after him and to forgive the sins of the past jedi that killed his father. Boba commits to the creed and the show goes forward as a cool boba fett show. Although I doubt Temuera Morrison would want to or be able to helm his own show. It's a cool what if situation.

Rhys Davies

I feel like ally is definitely not an option from a writing perspective. Maybe team up to fight something or go somewhere like in this episode with the sand people and Cobb, but honestly we cant really answer this question without knowing what Boda wants. If he cares about getting the armor back, then I cant see him being anything but an enemy. Again, from a writing perspective, having the mando team up with someone to get that armor, then team up with someone else because THEY want it, seems a little bit repetitive.

Mythmaker

I'm wondering if Boba will have enough of a conversation with Mando to where he brings up Kamino. That could make things very interesting.

I don't know much about Boba in legends or how much is now in Disney canon. Maybe he swore himself to the Mandalorian creed at some point in his bounty hunting career after encountering a covert and has isolated himself on Tatooine after getting his helmet removed by the Sarlacc. I'm thinking he'll voice his distaste for Jedi but recognize Din and the Child as a clan of two and aid them as much as he can.

My son and I talked about this in great length... my 10 yr old is passionate and reads the Star Wars encyclopedias daily- just for funsies lol. We both agree there will be some great Boba moments (ally and enemy scenes) But we think they’re just toying with all of us, it may be some fan service.. a big tease of a storyline we’ll have to wait for in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series for Disney plus. Come what may, I’m so excited I plan on just enjoying the ride!!!!! 2020 has been rude as hell, looking for to some Star Wars magic!

Michelle Blkft

Boba will want his armor back, but i don't think Mando will just do that. Boba has taken off the helmet and thus is not alowed to put it back on again, at least acording to Mandos beliefs.

Boba could be working for the Remnants of the Empire and try to steal The Child for a pay day from Moff Gideon. He also probably wants his armour back but I don't think Mando would allow this. I think he'd be more likely to give the armour back to Cobb Vanth down the line somewhere.

Young Ish Jon

Boba Fett, one of the most skilled bounty hunters in the galaxy, with a name that sends men running. If he doesnt have his armor, it was for a reason. And if he had 5 years to get it back, and didnt, then he doesnt want it back.

Erich Bomke

If he wanted it back, he could have taken it back at any point in time. 5 years, I honestly think he's over it.

Erich Bomke

All I know is that if he leads Mando to a cave and inside is Slave covered in sandy tarps, I will need a new pair of underwear. Hands down my favorite SW ship.

Erich Bomke

I think he is helping Moff Gideon but will end up turning and siding with Mando in the end

Raj

Enemy who possibly turns into an Ally towards the end but anything could happen intrigued to see where it goes with Boba, also want to see more of Cobb Vanth - Vanth Refrigeration

I think Boba will be an enemy. He probably wants his armor back and when he finds out about Mandos quest he will be against it. He might not be outwardly hostile but I think it will be a Protagonist/Antagonist relationship

I found it very interesting to have Boba in episode 1. This felt like a finale in and of itself. Did not expect to see Temura in this show. Loved your guys reaction.

The only reason why I think he will be neutral is after what, 10 years?? Why wouldn’t he want his armour back? I’m getting major Rex vibes where it’s like I’ve fought my fight and now I rest because the fight got me to this point. Being eaten by a sarlacc. I low key also need to see a kryat dragon eating a sarlacc though...

I think he will be a enemy first to get back his armor than pop up as now and then as a ally, enemy, or neutral depends on his missions

spencer

Great start to the season. I had tears when I saw Temuera Morrison. I'm hoping he'll be an ally, but I voted neutral. I think he'll help Mando out, but leave to do his own thing. Maybe come back later in the season to save the day

I vote enemy, at first. He’s taken many contracts with the Empire in the past and being employed by Moff Gideon seems like something that would be natural. But, as he keeps encountering Mando, Din Djarin will teach Boba that being Mandalorian is now a creed, and not limited to a race, converting Boba onto the good guy team!

BicycleAcesUp

He will do only that that furthers his own interests.

Axis 77

I think, given how popular he is, he will be reluctant to get involved beyond looking for his father’s people, but he will share what he knows of Yoda and the Jedi. Boba is loyal to those who earn his trust, and I think Mando could gain his trust.

DarkDruid

I definitely think he is after his armour and we will 100% get a fight between the two but after they'll help eachother

Dip602

Lastly he doesn’t like when someone sabotages a jet back to get rid of them

Matthew’s First Name

I think Boba Fett just wants to move on from his bounty hunter life. Maybe he still helps Mando and puts on the armor at one point.

DC Fanboy

Boba will probably want the armor back which will put him at odds with Din. Other than that I’m not sure of what Boba’s motivations are.

Joshua Krienke

I think he’ll be neutral at first and become an enemy because the little one pulled the green color off better than he did, and also a force user killed his dad

Matthew’s First Name

I think Boba will help Mando at some point. Think about this BW- Boba gets his armor on one last time, and Mando let’s him use his rifle, (which is pulled from the Holiday Special which Jon Favreau loves) and we get to see a version of the very first Boba Fett from 1978. Minds will be blown

Jack Dude Brother69

I doubt he'll play a big role at all beyond the next episode, but I would love to be surprised.

Semblance of Sanity

I hope he will start out as an enemy but end up as an ally! 😁👍

I'm saying neutral because Boba has a bad history with Jedi so he probably won't help in that regard. But he might be a contact for other Mandalorians. Though I doubt he will have much to do with the overarching plot of the show, he is still a great addition to the adventures of Mando and the Child. :)

I need this storyline to happen- Mando: Goku Boba Fett Vegeta Moff Gideon: Frieza This will be the DBZ of Star Wars!

Joel

He's been my favorite character in Star Wars since I read the legends novels, so I hope he's an ally 😂

Sam K

I think he just wants his damn armor back.
