In between packing weeks, we spend a lot of time going through letters, prepping responses and processing packages, address changes and more. We get numerous letters weekly, sometimes requests to be added to our mailing lists, questions about the types of books we send out, and occasionally a poem or offering to be shared. Our incarcerated members are all over the U.S., in 38 prisons out of the 50 states. In this moment of increased censorship, book bans and decreased access to education for marginalized communities, particularly incarcerated folks, we’re committed to continuing to grow and strengthen this program and our links to our communities on the “inside”.

This month we officially launched our chapter in Nairobi, Kenya! The meeting was held at Cheche Books which is a beautiful bookstore/organizing space in the city. They carry all sorts of revolutionary titles and are a hub for many local organizers and activists.
