The problem lies in the fact that the DoD has contract bids, and whoever agrees to charge the least wins. If you talk to guys that are tier two or tier one (Rangers, Green Berets, Delta, Seals, MARSOC, 24th STS, PJ’s, Combat Controllers, etc etc) they often buy top of the line civilian gear, as it is better.
