Lol not our fault that many ppl like anime. Your Name is wonderfully animated and wonderfully written. Deserves the win on this poll and many awards it won so..... I also see no difference to anime winning on polls to and Blind Wave constantly reacting to a lot of superhero type TV shows. Shit I would love to get less of superhero tv reactions and better live action shows but if it’s what the ppl want, can’t complain 🤷‍♀️

I actually thought a few weeks ago about how it would be great to see their reaction and thoughts on Your Name, but considered it to be a very slim chance of getting the movie into the poll. So it was a really nice surprise =) And the eng dub is pretty good, too.

I don't get this weird hate for anime whenever it's on a poll, it's literally just another movie on the list but animated, it doesn't make it any less better or worse. Seems to me that people just will always complain no matter what their show loses against and anime is the perfect medium to hate cause it's "animated".

Yes, and how many of those 23 that weren't anime had to compete against anime films in the polls they won? Point being it just seems like putting anything anime related in a movie/show poll up against non-anime will always, at least most of the time, result in the anime winning. I could be wrong though. I'm just going based off what I've seen.

Both animated and live action are difficult to create. Saying that, do you know how hard it is to create a film to look like a one shot, especially a live action film. I'd argue that 1917 was a more difficult film to create than an "Your Name".

You say anime like its derogatory and the movie isnt fantastically written, with some of the most complex animation cells made to date. You could argue that more talent was involved in creating Your Name than 1917. Your Name, while it may be a japanese animated film, is still worth everyones time. And dont try and counter with the assumption that I dont like 1917. It was incredible, and Roger is the greatest man behind a lens of ALL TIME, but dont think that it should automatically win over "an anime"
