Once the rough is close enough to done, I'll jump into the linework. there's always room for changes at this stage still, so I never feel like I'm stuck with the linework. In this case there were a few minor alterations but other times whole sections might need to be changed. That's one thing to remember when working digitally, don't settle if you're unhappy with the work. You'll spend more time fighting with it instead of just getting rid of it and starting over.
After that it's on to playing with colors. Once I've figured out the best combo I'll clean everything up and throw the shadow layer to add depth and then more detail after to make things pop even more.
And then we're done! I played around with some RGB color options which will be available to download along with the original and the process poster.
