2020-01-15 00:19:51 +0000 UTCYeah that's the real reason he calls her Christina but to add: as it doesn't translate well in English the dub just says Okabe calls her Christina because he didn't know how to pronounce her name Kurisu at first so was embarrassed and just made up a name instead hence Christina.

2020-01-14 19:12:21 +0000 UTCJapanese Visual Novels tend to be very dialogue heavy and quite linear. Games like Phoenix Wright are kind of an outlier, with actual gameplay and exploration. There's a reason they're called "visual novels." So it plays out very similarly to the anime, just with even more dialogue and exposition, and a handful of extra scenes/endings that didn't make it into the anime. If you enjoy the anime it's worth experiencing though. Especially if you're curious about the context for the Japanese side of references, as it has a whole encyclopedia explaining pretty much every little thing you come across.

2020-01-14 16:05:37 +0000 UTCI am watching the show along with them and even though I love time travel and I think it's being handled pretty well as well as the plot, the highlight of the anime by far is Kyoma and his eccentric behavior and dialogue with Christina. I could watch 20 episodes of them just pissing off each other and hanging out.
